code is refactored so that external extension members can exist
on inline interop classes and are lowered accordingly.

Moves JSObject to dart:_js_helper, so that JavaScript objects

gets reexported in dart:_js_interop with a typedef.

This is purely for experimentation. This class needs to be sealed
before we can publish this library.

Srujan Gaddam 0673894cd9 [pkg:js] Disallow @staticInterop synthetic and @anonymous constructor tear-offs
Generative synthetic constructors of @staticInterop classes are already
disallowed, but this adds errors for tear-offs of such members as well.
This also disallows tear-offs of @anonymous @staticInterop factory
tear-offs. This aligns with what we want to do with object literal
constructors going forward, as tear-offs will implicitly have different
semantics than direct invocations. To avoid that inconsistency, we
disallow tear-offs here.

Srujan Gaddam f04331891f Update CFE expectations and fix top-level external members
Since we lower @staticInterop members differently, CFE expectations are
updated. A previous patchset updated tests to account for changes in
top-level external members, but those changes are now non-breaking.
This CL still keeps some of those fixes to tests since they are more
sound and correct:

- Debugger tests to allowInterop a function that wasn't caught before,
as DDC only adds checks for arguments whose static type is a Function,
whereas js_util does a runtime is check to determine if the argument is
a Function
- Interop tests that typed top-level externals unsoundly
- Interop tests that used tear-offs of top-level external methods
instead of getters

----------
DESCRIPTION:
Setting the `stream` parameter on `developer.postEvent` will now forward those events to a custom stream inside DDS.

The first use of this will be for widget inspection. A navigation event will be posted to a custom stream. Our IDE DAP can listen for the Event and react to it by navigating to the desired location in the code.

TEST=Made sure that regression from original PR could be reproduced, and then resolved by applying this change. Updated observatory tests. Created new developer test to check assertions. Added DDS tests for new custom stream behaviour. Manually tested the postEvent and StreamListen with multiple clients

Dan Chevalier 4981cbffe2 [ VM Service / DDS ] Add custom service stream support
Setting the `stream` parameter on `developer.postEvent` will now forward those events to a custom stream inside DDS.

The first use of this will be for widget inspection. A navigation event will be posted to a custom stream. Our IDE DAP can listen for the Event and react to it by navigating to the desired location in the code.

TEST=Updated observatory tests. Created new developer test to check assertions. Added DDS tests for new custom stream behaviour. Manually tested the postEvent and StreamListen with multiple clients

Nicholas Shahan f0c270e96d [ddc] Temporarily skip tests that timeout
The timeouts are crashing the test infra when trying to deflake
the failures and preventing more results from getting uploaded.

These tests are timing out right now on the canary bot because
support for the new runtime types hasn't been fully landed. They
should be enabled again after all the support has landed and
should have results at parity with the non-canary configurations.

The asynchronous stream controllers were forwarding stream events

On ia32 the CFE will run from a kernel file instead of an AppJit

So we should give all tests on debug-ia32 extra time.

That affected timing, because returning `null` was processed
synchronously, and that change in timing made some tests fail.
Rather that fix the fragile tests, we made the function return
a recognizable future, a canonical `Future<Null>.value(null)`,
and then recognized it and took a synchronous path for it.

That caused other issues, because the future was created in the
root zone. (Well, originally, it was created in the first zone
which needed one, that was worse. Now it's created in the root zone.)
Some code tries to contain asynchrony inside a custom zone, and
then the get a `nullFuture` and calls `then` on it, and that
schedules a microtask in the root zone.
(It should probably have used the listener's zone, and not store
a zone in the future at all, but that's how it was first done,
and now people rely on that behavior too.)

This change creates a `null` future *per zone* (lazily initialized
when asked for). That should be sufficient because the code recognizing
a returned `null` future is generally running in the same zone,
but if any other code gets the `nullFuture`, it will be in the

Lasse R.H. Nielsen 330759efc0 Refactor to implement Stream.fromIterator more directly.
The current implementation uses a specialized version of the
pending-event queue used by stream subscriptions to remember
pending events.
That makes the queue polymorphic, and slightly more complicated than
necessary, and that again makes further refactorings of the
Stream implementation harder.

This change moves the logic from the specialized pending-queue
into a simple function instead, so you only pay for it if you
actually use `Stream.fromIterable`.

Also allows `Stream.fromIterable` to be listened to more than once.
(It uses `Stream.multi` for the general async+sync controller API,
and it would cost extra code to make it only work once.)

Lasse R.H. Nielsen 69f32d6ad7 Refactor _Future.
This is a major rewrite of the `_Future` class,
which is the default implementation of the `Future` interface.

The main goal was to reduce the number of expensive type checks
in the internal passing around of data.
Expensive type checks are things like
* `is _Future<T>` (more expensive than just `is _Future`, the latter
can be a single class-ID check.
* Covariant generic parameter checks (using `T` covariantly in a
parameter forces a run-time type check).

Also removed some plain unnecessary casts and turned some
implicit casts from `dynamic` into `unsafeCast`s.

This seems to be an success, at least on very primitive benchmarks, according to Golem:
FutureCatchErrorTest 41.22% (1.9 noise)
FutureValueTest 46.51% (2.8 noise)
EmptyFutureTest 59.15% (3.1 noise)
FutureWhenCompleteTest 51.10% (3.2 noise)

A secondary goal was to clean up a very old and messy class,
and make it clearer for other `dart:async` how to interact
with the future.

The change has a memory cost: The `_FutureListener<S,T>` class,
which represents a `then`, `catchError` or `whenComplete`
call on a `_Future`, now contains a reference to its source future,
the one which provides the inputs to the callbacks,
as well as the result future returned by the call.
That's one extra memory slot per listener.

In return, the `_FutureListener` now does not need to
get its source future as an argument, which needs a covariant
generic type check, and the methods of `_Future` can be written
in a way which ignores the type parameters of both `_Future`
and `_FutureListener`, which reduces complex type checks
significantly.

In general, typed code is in `_FutureListener`, which knows both
the source and target types of the listener callbacks, and which
contains the futures already at that type, so no extra type checking
is needed.
The `_Future` class is mostly untyped, except for its "public"
API, called by other classes, which checks inputs,
and code interacting with non-native futures.
Invariants ensure that only correctly typed values
are stored in the untyped shared `_resultOrListeners` field
on `_Future`, as determined by its `_state` integer.
(This was already partially true, and has simply been made
more consistent.)

Further, we now throw an error in a situation that was previously
unhandled: When a `_Future` is completed with *itself*.
That would ensure that the future would never complete
(it waits for itself to complete before it can complete),
and may potentially have caused weird loops in the representation.
In practice, it probably never happens. Now it makes the error
fail with an error.
Currently a private `_FutureCyclicDependencyError` which presents
as an `UnsupportedError`.
That avoids code like
```dart
import "dart:async";
void main() {
  var c = Completer();
  c.complete(c.future); // bad.
  print("well!");
  var d = Completer();
  d.complete(c.future);
  print("shucks!");
}
```
from hanging the runtime by busily searching for the end of a cycle.

Sigmund Cherem e808fa1751 [jsinterop] Add static check for JSName of static class members.
Static class members could technically be mapped to a name with dots,
but in the early days of JSInterop we thought this was not necessary
since it could also be modeled as a top-level member or by adding
additional classes and exposing the member as a simple name on a deeper
class.

This invariant was assumed by DDC (which crashed if this was not the
case) and ignored by dart2js.

This change adds a static check to ensure both compilers act
consistenlty.

Daco Harkes 828dcd00e8 [vm] Implement WeakReference in the VM
This CL implements `WeakReference` in the VM.

* This reduces the size of weak references from 2 objects using 8 words
to 1 object using 4 words.
* This makes loads of weak reference targets a single load instead of
  two.
* This avoids the fix-point in the GC and message object copying for
weak references. (N.b. Weak references need to be processed _after_
  the fix-point for weak properties.)

The semantics of weak references in messages is that their target gets
set to `null` if the target is not included in the message by a strong
reference.

The tests take particular care to exercise the case where a weak
reference's target is only kept alive because a weak property key is
alive and it refers to the target in its value. This exercises the fact
that weak references need to be processed last.

Does not add support for weak references in the app snapshot. It would
be dead code until we start using weak references in for example the
CFE.

This CL does not try to unify weak references and weak properties in
the GC or messaging (as proposed in go/dart-vm-weakreference), because
their semantics differ enough.

Lasse R.H. Nielsen cd0606e425 Simplify asyncExpectThrows and enhance Expect.throws.
For `asyncExpectThrows`, instead of taking a function,
then checking if that function can be called with zero arguments,
and then immediately calling it and checking that it returns a future,
just take the future as argument.

Since synchronus errors from calling the function were not caught
anyway, doing the entire `Future` computation directly shouldn't
change behavior.

Also make `asyncExpectThrows` and `Expect.throws` return the caught error,
so that you can use normal `Expect.something` checks on it afterwards,
instead of doing that in the `check` function.
That basically makes the `check` function unnecessary (but hard to remove
with the existing test corpus using it heavily).

This makes some uses of the `asyncExpectThrows` function slightly more
complicated, those that have no other way to create a future than calling
the argument function anyway, but other uses become simpler
when they can avoid adding the function wrapper.

TEST= Refactoring. If the tests keep running, it's successful.

Lasse R.H. Nielsen bdbd3c0602 Make unawaited accept a nullable argument.
The associated `unawaited_futures` lint triggers for expressions
of type `Future?` as well, so we should allow the workaround to
handle such expressions.

This change makes a static function more permissive, and is not expected
to be breaking in any way.
(It does mean that you need Dart 2.15.0 to use the function with
nullable arguments. I've changed the annotation to say `@Since("2.15")`.
That means anyone using a 2.15 SDK should assume that they need a 2.15
SDK to use it, and someone using a 2.14 SDK will not see the argument
as nullable. If anyone uses `@Since` annotations for anything at all.)

Lasse R.H. Nielsen ed3824a220 Tweaks, refactoring and updates on DoubleLinkedQueue.
It's a badly designed class, but this change makes it slightly better.
(We should consider moving it to package:collection and removing it from
the platform libraries. Eventually.)

The changes decouples the public `DoubleLinkedQueueEntry` class from
the actual queue implementation classes, avoiding the latter having
to share a generic `_Link<DoubleLinkedQueueEntry>` interface
which would force them to do otherwise unnecessary casts.

The public class should have been abstract, but isn't.
It's mainly used as the API of the entries exposed by DoubleLinkedQueue,
but it can also be used by itself to build double-linked lists that are
not part of a Queue, and the class can be extended.
If anyone does either, it should keep working, so it needs to be a concrete,
self-contained class with a generative constructor.

That class is moved to dart:_internal to avoid its private
implementation fields from interfering with the queue implementation classes,
which have similar fields, but can now have them at different types.
That's a hack, but it works.

The internal implementation of the DoubleLinkedQueue and its entries
are updated to better follow current programming idioms, and avoids
having fields on classes which don't need them.

Also fixes #27920
(`clear`ing a list now detaches each entry from the list so later `.contains`
won't give the wrong answer).

And moves queue tests from tests/corelib to tests/lib/collection,
since Queue isn't exposed by `dart:core`.

Paul Berry f5a3bce734 Fix scope resolution of metadata on type parameters
Previously, when encountering identifiers in metadata on a class's
type parameter, the analyzer would resolve them using the type
parameter scope, but then fall back on using implicit `this`. The CFE
would resolve them using the class body scope. In both cases, the end
result was that the annotation could refer to static class members.

This change brings the behavior of both the analyzer and the CFE in
line with the spec, by preventing the use of implicit `this` in these
annotations, and resolving them in the type parameter scope.

This is not expected to break any code in practice, because
annotations on type parameters are rare, as are annotations referring
to static class members, and the overlap between these two should be
negligibly small.

Martin Kustermann 430aa20a1f [vm/concurrency] Implement a fast transitive object copy for isolate message passing
We use message passing as comunication mechanism between isolates.
The transitive closure of an object to be sent is currently serialized
into a snapshot form and deserialized on the receiver side. Furthermore
the receiver side will re-hash any linked hashmaps in that graph.

If isolate gropus are enabled we have all isolates in a group work on
the same heap. That removes the need to use an intermediate
serialization format. It also removes the need for an O(n) step on the
receiver side.

This CL implements a fast transitive object copy implementation and
makes use of it a message that is to be passed to another isolate stays
within the same isolate group.

In the common case the object graph will fit into new space. So the
copy algorithm will try to take advantage of it by having a fast path
and a fallback path. Both of them effectively copy the graph in BFS
order.

The algorithm works effectively like a scavenge operation, but instead
of first copying the from-object to the to-space and then re-writing the
object in to-space to forward the pointers (which requires us writing to
the to-space memory twice), we only reserve space for to-objects and
then initialize the to-objects to it's final contents, including
forwarded pointers (i.e. write the to-space object only once).

Compared with a scavenge operation (which stores forwarding pointers in
the objects themselves), we use a [WeakTable] to store them. This is the
only remaining expensive part of the algorithm and could be further
optimized. To avoid relying on iterating the to-space, we'll remember
[from, to] addresses.

=> All of this works inside a [NoSafepointOperationScope] and avoids
usages of handles as well as write barriers.

While doing the transitive object copy, we'll share any object we can
safely share (canonical objects, strings, sendports, ...) instead of
copying it.

If the fast path fails (due to allocation failure or hitting) we'll
handlify any raw pointers and continue almost the same algorithm in a
safe way, where GC is possible at every object allocation site and
normal barriers are used for any stores of object pointers.

The copy algorithm uses templates to share the copy logic between the
fast and slow case (same copy routines can work on raw pointers as well
as handles).

There's a few special things to take into consideration:

  * If we copy a view on external typed data we need to know the
external typed data address to compute the inner pointer of the
view, so we'll eagerly initialize external typed data.

  * All external typed data needs to get a finalizer attached
(irrespective if the object copy suceeds or not) to ensure the
    `malloc()`ed data is freed again.

  * Transferables will only be transferred on successful transitive
copies. Also they need to attach finalizers to objects (which
requires all objects be in handles).

  * We copy linked hashmaps as they are - instead of compressing the
data by removing deleted entries. We may need to re-hash those
hashmaps on the receiver side (similar to the snapshot-based copy
approach) since new object graph will have no identity hash codes
assigned to them. Though if the hashmaps only has sharable objects
as keys (very common, e.g. json) there is no need for re-hashing.

The `unawaited` function in `dart:async` is intended for use with the `unawaited_futures` lint which is hopefully going to be part of the Dart recommended set of lints.

The `ignore` extension method is there to provide an alternative if you even want to ignore errors from a future. By having both, it makes the distinction clearer and makes it easier to not think one can be used for everything.

Lasse R.H. Nielsen 478602ad79 Fix errors in Future implementation around Future<Future<X>>.
Previously, when completing a future with another future,
we always chained to the other future. This effectively awaits
the latter future and then completes the former with its result.
This is incorrect behavior if the former future is, say,
a `Future<Future<int>>` and the latter is a `Future<int>`.
In that case we *must not* await the latter future
because we can't complete the former future with an `int`.
We should just complete the future directly with the latter future
as a value.

We now check first whether to chain a `Future<T>` to another
future, and only does so if the latter future is a `Future<T>`
(or it's not a `T`, which shouldn't happen,
but currently does in some places).

Add test for behavior.

Lasse Reichstein Holst Nielsen 8129c40c5e Update LinkedList.contains to take advantage of internal structure.
Made it explicit in the documentation that elements of the `LinkedList`
are compared using identity, not `operator==`, even if they choose to
override that.
The linked list entries are directly linked to their containing list,
which is what defined their containing list. Merely being equal to an entry
of a list does not make another entry belong to that list.

The `contains` method now simply checks that the `list` property of the
the provided entry is the list itself, which matches the existing behavior
of `remove`.

Liam Appelbe f25c50fdcb [wasm] Use wasm traps to handle exceptions
The Dart exception is converted to a string, stored in a trap which
is passed through wasm, then converted back to a Dart exception.

Module instantiation can also throw a trap, because it internally
invokes the initialization function, if the module defines one. So I'm
handling this too.

Also, update to the new version of the wasm C API, which replaces some
foo_t** with foo_vec_t*.

Srujan Gaddam ed009afc4c [package:js] Add static errors for invalid extends
Bug: https://github.com/dart-lang/sdk/issues/37896

dart2js disallows JS interop classes from extending Dart classes,
and ddc does not work as expected. Dart classes that extends JS
interop classes can't be declared in ddc and throw an error on
usage in dart2js. This CL adds static errors for both cases.

Lasse R.H. Nielsen a15025fc85 Harden StreamIterator against out-of-order events.
Users have seen event being sent *during* the `listen` call
to the underlying stream. This caught the `StreamIterator`
in an unanticipated state (subscription wasn't available yet).

Sending events during a `listen` call can currently happen
using a synchronous broadcast stream controller adding
events in the `onListen` callback.
That should be fixed so that broadcast stream subscriptions
are treated as paused during the `onListen` call like
single-subscription streams already are.

This change hardens the class against that particular malpratice,
but it's still possible to get into inconsistent states if the
`listen` call somehow manages to call back into the same
stream-iterator again. So, don't do that.

(The class also assumes that no stream will send events/call callbacks
* while paused.
* after cancelling
* after a done event
* while delivering another event.

If a stream does so, things will still crash.
It is believed that no platform stream will do any of these.)

Fixes #43779.

Liam Appelbe 9d0ae7d017 Switch wasmer FFI boilerplate to new API
Broadly speaking, the new API is very similar to the old one. The only
public facing change is that you can't make a memory by itself anymore.
You need to construct if from a store, which is owned by a module.

The new API no longer passes structs by value, so I was able to delete
the wasmer_wrapper.cc, and the files I had copied from the wasmer repo.

The new API is also a lot more verbose, so it made more sense to write
a script to generate the FFI boilerplate, rather that write it all
manually.

All the migrated tests that were passing before this refactor are still
passing.
