Jeffrey Huang be58a0da16 bnxt_en: support hwrm_func_drv_unrgtr command
During remove_one, the driver should issue hwrm_func_drv_unrgtr
command to inform firmware that this function has been unloaded.
This is to let firmware keep track of driver present/absent state
when driver is gracefully unloaded. A keep alive timer is needed
later to keep track of driver state during abnormal shutdown.

Yuval Mintz ea2465af3b bnx2x: Prevent FW assertion when using Vxlan
FW has a rare corner case in which a fragmented packet using lots
of frags would not be linearized, causing the FW to assert while trying
to transmit the packet.

To prevent this, we need to make sure the window of fragements containing
MSS worth of data contains 1 BD less than for regular packets due to
the additional parsing BD.

Michael Chan 028de140ff bnxt_en: Implement missing tx timeout reset logic.
The reset logic calls bnxt_close_nic() and bnxt_open_nic() under rtnl_lock
from bnxt_sp_task.  BNXT_STATE_IN_SP_TASK must be cleared before calling
bnxt_close_nic() to avoid deadlock.

Michael Chan 4cebdcec09 bnxt_en: Don't cancel sp_task from bnxt_close_nic().
When implementing driver reset from tx_timeout in the next patch,
bnxt_close_nic() will be called from the sp_task workqueue.  Calling
cancel_work() on sp_task will hang the workqueue.

Instead, set a new bit BNXT_STATE_IN_SP_TASK when bnxt_sp_task() is running.
bnxt_close_nic() will wait for BNXT_STATE_IN_SP_TASK to clear before
proceeding.

Eric Dumazet 4d6acb62d2 bnx2x: avoid soft lockup in bnx2x_poll()
Under heavy TX load, bnx2x_poll() can loop forever and trigger
soft lockup bugs.

A napi poll handler must yield after one TX completion round,
risk of livelock is too high otherwise.

Bug is very easy to trigger using a debug build, and udp flood, because
of added cpu cycles in TX completion, and we do not receive enough
packets to break the loop.

Michal Schmidt 44c33c6631 bnx2x: simplify distinction between port and func stats
The 'flags' field in bnx2x_stats_arr[] serves only one purpose - to tell
us if the statistic is a per-port stat and thus should not be shown for
virtual functions. It's strange that the field can have three different
values. A boolean will do just fine.

Also remove IS_FUNC_STAT(). It was used only once and it's in fact just
a negation of IS_PORT_STAT().

Michal Schmidt 9adab1b036 bnx2x: change FW GRO error message to WARN_ONCE
It's supposed to be impossible for TPA to give us anything else
than IPv4 or IPv6 here. But in case there is a way to reach this error
by some strange received frames, we don't want to flood the kernel log.
WARN_ONCE is better for this purpose.

Michael Chan b664f008b0 bnxt_en: Setup uc_list mac filters after resetting the chip.
Call bnxt_cfg_rx_mode() in bnxt_init_chip() to setup uc_list and
mc_list mac address filters.  Before the patch, uc_list is not
setup again after chip reset (such as ethtool ring size change)
and macvlans don't work any more after that.

Modify bnxt_cfg_rx_mode() to return error codes appropriately so
that the init chip sequence can detect any failures.

Jeffrey Huang bdd4347b33 bnxt_en: enforce proper storing of MAC address
For PF, the bp->pf.mac_addr always holds the permanent MAC
addr assigned by the HW.  For VF, the bp->vf.mac_addr always
holds the administrator assigned VF MAC addr. The random
generated VF MAC addr should never get stored to bp->vf.mac_addr.
This way, when the VF wants to change the MAC address, we can tell
if the adminstrator has already set it and disallow the VF from
changing it.

Jeffrey Huang 1fc2cfd03b bnxt_en: Fixed incorrect implementation of ndo_set_mac_address
The existing ndo_set_mac_address only copies the new MAC addr
and didn't set the new MAC addr to the HW. The correct way is
to delete the existing default MAC filter from HW and add
the new one. Because of RFS filters are also dependent on the
default mac filter l2 context, the driver must go thru
close_nic() to delete the default MAC and RFS filters, then
open_nic() to set the default MAC address to HW.

Yuval Mintz 5e091e7ad0 bnx2x: Utilize FW 7.13.1.0.
Commit 46e8a249423ff "bnx2x: Add FW 7.13.1.0" added said .bin FW to
linux-firmware; This patch incorporates the FW in the bnx2x driver.

This introduces 2 fixes/enhancements:
 - In some management protocols there are outer-vlan configurations
that can be dynamically changed while device is running. This fixes
some corner cases where such a change did not take effect.

 - Prevent VFs from sending MAC control frames; FW would treat a VF
sending such a packet as malicious and block any further communication
done by the VF.

Yuval Mintz 3fb2d4926c bnx2x: Show port statistics in Multi-function
Today, port statistics are being presented when using `ethool -S' only
for single-function devices, but there are some port statistics which are
crucial for analyzing bottle-necks. E.g., HW Rx discards due to lack of
buffer space [when device isn't handling ingress traffic fast enough].

Judging the pros and cons, it was decided that in-order to better support
automatic dump-gathering tools, bnx2x should no longer hide those stats.
This leaves only VFs lacking the port statistics.

had to be stopped due to Tx ring exhaustion.

Eric Dumazet 93d05d4a32 net: provide generic busy polling to all NAPI drivers
NAPI drivers no longer need to observe a particular protocol
to benefit from busy polling (CONFIG_NET_RX_BUSY_POLL=y)

napi_hash_add() and napi_hash_del() are automatically called
from core networking stack, respectively from
netif_napi_add() and netif_napi_del()

This patch depends on free_netdev() and netif_napi_del() being
called from process context, which seems to be the norm.

Drivers might still prefer to call napi_hash_del() on their
own, since they might combine all the rcu grace periods into
a single one, knowing their NAPI structures lifetime, while
core networking stack has no idea of a possible combining.

Once this patch proves to not bring serious regressions,
we will cleanup drivers to either remove napi_hash_del()
or provide appropriate rcu grace periods combining.

Eric Dumazet 93f93a4404 net: move skb_mark_napi_id() into core networking stack
We would like to automatically provide busy polling support
to all NAPI drivers, without them having to implement anything.

skb_mark_napi_id() can be called from napi_gro_receive() and
napi_get_frags().

Few drivers are still calling skb_mark_napi_id() because
they use netif_receive_skb(). They should eventually call
napi_gro_receive() instead. I will leave this to drivers
maintainers.

Switch to native NAPI polling, as this reduces overhead and complexity.

Normal path is faster, since one cmpxchg() is not anymore requested,

Yuval Mintz ab6d7846cf bnx2x: Fix VLANs null-pointer for 57710, 57711
Commit 05cc5a39dd "bnx2x: add vlan filtering offload" introduced
a regression in regard for vlans for 57710, 57711 adapters -
Loading 8021q module on a machine with such an adapter would cause
a null pointer dereference, as the driver mistakenly publishes it
has capabilities for vlan CTAG filtering.

Mel Gorman d0164adc89 mm, page_alloc: distinguish between being unable to sleep, unwilling to sleep and avoiding waking kswapd
__GFP_WAIT has been used to identify atomic context in callers that hold
spinlocks or are in interrupts.  They are expected to be high priority and
have access one of two watermarks lower than "min" which can be referred
to as the "atomic reserve".  __GFP_HIGH users get access to the first
lower watermark and can be called the "high priority reserve".

Over time, callers had a requirement to not block when fallback options
were available.  Some have abused __GFP_WAIT leading to a situation where
an optimisitic allocation with a fallback option can access atomic
reserves.

This patch uses __GFP_ATOMIC to identify callers that are truely atomic,
cannot sleep and have no alternative.  High priority users continue to use
__GFP_HIGH.  __GFP_DIRECT_RECLAIM identifies callers that can sleep and
are willing to enter direct reclaim.  __GFP_KSWAPD_RECLAIM to identify
callers that want to wake kswapd for background reclaim.  __GFP_WAIT is
redefined as a caller that is willing to enter direct reclaim and wake
kswapd for background reclaim.

This patch then converts a number of sites

o __GFP_ATOMIC is used by callers that are high priority and have memory
  pools for those requests. GFP_ATOMIC uses this flag.

o Callers that have a limited mempool to guarantee forward progress clear
  __GFP_DIRECT_RECLAIM but keep __GFP_KSWAPD_RECLAIM. bio allocations fall
  into this category where kswapd will still be woken but atomic reserves
  are not used as there is a one-entry mempool to guarantee progress.

o Callers that are checking if they are non-blocking should use the
  helper gfpflags_allow_blocking() where possible. This is because
  checking for __GFP_WAIT as was done historically now can trigger false
  positives. Some exceptions like dm-crypt.c exist where the code intent
  is clearer if __GFP_DIRECT_RECLAIM is used instead of the helper due to
  flag manipulations.

o Callers that built their own GFP flags instead of starting with GFP_KERNEL
  and friends now also need to specify __GFP_KSWAPD_RECLAIM.

The first key hazard to watch out for is callers that removed __GFP_WAIT
and was depending on access to atomic reserves for inconspicuous reasons.
In some cases it may be appropriate for them to use __GFP_HIGH.

The second key hazard is callers that assembled their own combination of
GFP flags instead of starting with something like GFP_KERNEL.  They may
now wish to specify __GFP_KSWAPD_RECLAIM.  It's almost certainly harmless
if it's missed in most cases as other activity will wake kswapd.

Jeffrey Huang 4bb6cdce38 bnxt_en: More robust SRIOV cleanup sequence.
Instead of always calling pci_sriov_disable() in remove_one(),
the driver should detect whether VFs are currently assigned
to the VMs. If the VFs are active in VMs, then it should not
disable SRIOV as it is catastrophic to the VMs. Instead,
it just leaves the VFs alone and continues to unload the PF.
The user can then cleanup the VMs even after the PF driver
has been unloaded.

Jeffrey Huang 11809490ac bnxt_en: map CAG_REG_LEGACY_INT_STATUS_MASK to GRC window #4
In order to use offset 0x4014 for reading CAG interrupt status,
the actual CAG register must be mapped to GRC bar0 window #4.
Otherwise, the driver is reading garbage. This patch corrects
this issue.

The profile ID in the completion record needs to be ANDed with the
profile ID mask of 0x1f.  This bug was causing the SKB hash type
and the gso_type to be wrong in some cases.

bnxt_gro_skb() has unused variables when CONFIG_INET is not set.  We
really cannot support hardware GRO if CONFIG_INET is not set, so
compile out bnxt_gro_skb() completely and define BNXT_FLAG_GRO to be 0
if CONFIG_INET is not set.  This will effectively always disable
hardware GRO if CONFIG_INET is not set.

Simon Arlott aebd99477f bcm63xx_enet: check 1000BASE-T advertisement configuration
If a gigabit ethernet PHY is connected to a fast ethernet MAC,
then it can detect 1000 support from the partner but not use it.

This results in a forced speed of 1000 and RX/TX failure.

Check for 1000BASE-T support and then check the advertisement
configuration before setting the MAC speed to 1000mbit.

Florian Fainelli 37850e37fc net: bcmgenet: Fix early link interrupt enabling
Link interrupts are enabled in init_umac(), which is too early for us to
process them since we do not yet have a valid PHY device pointer. On
BCM7425 chips for instance, we will crash calling phy_mac_interrupt()
because phydev is NULL.

Fix this by moving the link interrupts enabling in
bcmgenet_netif_start(), under a specific function:
bcmgenet_link_intr_enable() and while at it, update the comments
surrounding the code.

P1#: ifconfig eth0 down; which will call bnx2_close, then will
, and set Null to stats_blk
P2#: ifconfig eth0; which will call bnx2_get_stats64, it will
use stats_blk.
In one case:

                              stats_blk(no null)
    bnx2_free_mem
    ->bp->stats_blk = NULL
                              GET_64BIT_NET_STATS

then it will cause 'NULL Pointer' Problem.
it is as well with 'ethtool -S ethx'.

Allocate the statistics block at probe time so that this problem is
impossible

Eric Dumazet d682d2bdc3 bnx2x: byte swap rss_key to comply to Toeplitz specs
After a good amount of debugging, I found bnx2x was byte swaping
the 40 bytes of rss_key.

If we byte swap the key, then bnx2x generates hashes matching
MSDN specs as documented in (Verifying the RSS Hash Calculation)

It is mostly a non issue, unless we want to mix different NIC
in a host, and want consistent hashing among all of them, ie
if they all use the boot time generated rss key, or if some application

Florian Fainelli 2f9130709d net: bcmgenet: Implement TX coalescing control knobs
Configuring the ethtool tx-frames property, which translates into N
packets before a TX interrupt is the simplest configuration scheme
because it requires no locking neither at the softare nor hardware
level, and is completely indepedent from the link speed. Since ethtool
does not allow per-tx queue coalescing parameters, we apply the same
setting to any transmit queue.

We can no longer enable the BDONE/PDONE interrupts as those would fire
for each packet/buffer received, which would defeat the MBDONE interrupt
purpose. The MBDONE interrupt is guaranteed to correspond to a
PDONE/BDONE interrupt when the threshold is set to 1, but offers
interrupt coalescing when the value is > 1.

Since the HW is configured to generate an interrupt when the ring
becomes emtpy, we have to deny any timeout/timer settings coming from
user-space to indicate we can only generate an interrupt very <N>
packets.

While we are at it, fix the DMA_INTR_THRESHOLD_MASK value which was off
by one bit (0xff vs. 0x1ff).

Arnd Bergmann a19a19de83 bnx2x: use ktime_get_seconds() for timestamp
commit c48f350ff5 "bnx2x: Add MFW dump support" added the
bnx2x_update_mfw_dump() function that reads the current time and stores
it in a 32-bit field that gets passed into a buffer in a fixed format.

This is potentially broken when the epoch overflows in 2038, and
otherwise overflows in 2106. As we're trying to avoid uses of
struct timeval for this reason, I noticed the addition of this
function, and tried to rewrite it in a way that is more explicit
about the overflow and that will keep working once we deprecate
struct timeval.

I assume that it is not possible to change the ABI any more, otherwise
we should try to use a 64-bit field for the seconds right away.

Broadcom buses may have more than 1 Ethernet device. This is used e.g.
to have few interfaces connected to different switch ports. So far we
saw chipsets with only 2 devices (e.g. BCM4706) but recent ones have
up to 3 (e.g. Netgear R8000 uses 3rd interface for most of switch
traffic, lower interfaces are for some kind of offloading).

Clean the dma flags of multiq ring buffer int the interface stop
process. This patch fixes that the genet is not running while the
interface is re-enabled.

$ ifup eth0 - running after booting
$ ifdown eth0
$ ifup eth0 - not running and occur tx_timeout

The bcmgenet_dma_disable() in bcmgenet_open() do clean ring16 dma flag
only. If the genet has multiq, the dma register is not cleaned. and
bcmgenet_init_dma() is not done correctly. in case
GENET_V2(tx_queues=4), tdma_ctrl has 0x1e after running
bcmgenet_dma_disable().

This patch adds the ability to connect to the vxlan NDOs and configure
the UDP port associated with it in the HW.

Management firmware tells driver in case bandwidth configuration for
a specific function exists, but [regretably] the same field has different
meanings depending on the multi-function mode - it can either be
a percentile value or an actual speed.

For newer multi-function modes current logic is incorrect -
driver understands values as actual speeds instead of percentages,
causing the resulting chip configuration to be incorrect.

Yuval Mintz 0ea853dfa9 bnx2x: Free NVRAM lock at end of each page
Writing each 4Kb page into flash might take up-to ~100 miliseconds,
during which time management firmware cannot acces the nvram for its
own uses.

Firmware upgrade utility use the ethtool API to burn new flash images
for the device via the ethtool API, doing so by writing several page-worth
of data on each command. Such action might create problems for the
management firmware, as the nvram might not be accessible for a long time.

This patch changes the write implementation, releasing the nvram lock on
the completion of each page, allowing the management firmware time to
claim it and perform its own required actions.

Commit 05cc5a39dd ("bnx2x: add vlan filtering offload") has introduced
an incorrect logic for checking whether pvid should be configured for
a vf, causing the hypervisor driver to send unneeded ramrods for all of
the vfs each time a pvid has changed.

Yuval Mintz 05cc5a39dd bnx2x: add vlan filtering offload
Current driver always uses vlan-promisc mode, i.e., it receives both
tagged and untagged traffic and lets the network stack drop packets
tagged with unrequested vlan tags.

This patch implements vlan-filtering offload in the driver -
Unless explicitly configured to promisc mode, only untagged packets or
packets tagged with requested vlans would reach the Rx flow.

Florian Fainelli 6ac9de5f65 net: bcmgenet: Register link_update callback for all MoCA PHYs
Commit 8d88c6ebb3 ("net: bcmgenet: enable MoCA link state change
detection") added a fixed PHY link_update callback for MoCA PHYs when
registered using platform_data exclusively, this change is also
applicable to systems using Device Tree as their primary configuration
interface.

In order for this to work, move the link_update assignment into
bcmgenet_moca_phy_setup() where we know for sure that we are running on
a MoCA GENET instance, and do not override phydev->link since this is:

- properly taken care of by the PHY library by getting the link UP/DOWN
  interrupts
- this now runs everytime we call bcmgenet_open(), so we need to
  preserve whatever we detected before we went administratively DOWN and
  then UP
- we need to make sure that MoCA PHYs start with a link DOWN during
  probe in order to force a link transition to occur

To avoid a forward declaration, move bcmgenet_fixed_phy_link_update()
above its caller.

Instead of multiplying the number of checks for IS_ERR(priv->clk),
simply NULLify the 'struct clk' pointer which is something the Linux
common clock framework perfectly deals with and does early return for
each and every single clk_* API functions.

Having every single function check for !IS_ERR(priv->clk) is both
redundant and error prone, as it turns out, we were doing it for the
main GENET clock: priv->clk, but not for the Wake-on-LAN or EEE clock,
so let's just be consistent here.

Yuval Mintz c48f350ff5 bnx2x: Add MFW dump support
Devices with up-to-date management FW will be able to store register dumps
on their persistent storage - in case management FW identifies a fatal
error it would gather and store such dumps, which could later be retrieved
using specific debug tools.

This patch adds the necessary part in the driver in order to make the
feature operational, as well as update users [under debug] during load
in case their device contains a dump of a previous crash.

Yuval Mintz 28311f8e7c bnx2x: Utilize FW 7.12.30
This moves bnx2x into using 7.12.30 FW. Said firmware fixes the following:

 - Packets from a VF with pvid configured which were sent with a
   different vlan were transmitted instead of being discarded.

 - FCoE traffic might not recover after a failue while there's traffic
   to another function.

In addition, this FW opens the door for the driver to implement several
new features; Specifically, this enhances the device's support for
encapsulated packets and will allow vxlan/geneve offloads to be added in
the future, as well as vlan filtering offload.

Florian Fainelli 6cc8e6d4dc net: bcmgenet: Delay PHY initialization to bcmgenet_open()
We are currently doing a full PHY initialization and even starting the
pHY state machine during bcmgenet_mii_init() which is executed in the
driver's probe function. This is convenient to determine whether we can
attach to a proper PHY device but comes at the expense of spending up to
10ms per MDIO transactions (to reach the waitqueue timeout), which slows
things down.

This also creates a sitaution where we end-up attaching twice to the
PHY, which is not quite correct either.

Fix this by moving bcmgenet_mii_probe() into bcmgenet_open() and update
its error path accordingly.

Avoid printing the message "attached PHY at address 1 [...]" every time
we bring up/down the interface and remove this print since it duplicates
what the PHY driver already does for us.

Florian Fainelli c624f89121 net: bcmgenet: Determine PHY type before scanning MDIO bus
Our internal GPHY might be powered off before we attempt scanning the
MDIO bus and bind a driver to it. The way we are currently determining
whether a PHY is internal or not is done *after* we have successfully
matched its driver. If the PHY is powered down, it will not respond to
the MDIO bus, so we will not be able to bind a driver to it.

Our Device Tree for GENET interfaces specifies a "phy-mode" value:
"internal" which tells if this internal uses an internal PHY or not.

If of_get_phy_mode() fails to parse the 'phy-mode' property, do an
additional manual lookup, and if we find "internal" set the
corresponding internal variable accordingly.

Replace all uses of phy_is_internal() with a check against
priv->internal_phy to avoid having to rely on whether or not
priv->phydev is set correctly.

We are currently disabling the GPHY interface during bcmgenet_close(),
and attempting to power it back on during bcmgenet_open(). This works
fine for the first time, because we called bcmgenet_mii_config() which
took care of enabling the interface, however, bcmgenet_power_up() really
needs to power on the GPHY for correctness.

This will be particularly important as we want to move
bcmgenet_mii_probe() down to bcmgenet_open() to avoid seeing the "PHY
already attached" message.

We are currently issuing multiple PHY resets during a suspend/resume,
first during bcmgenet_power_up() which does a hardware reset, then a
software reset by calling bcmgenet_mii_reset(). This is both unnecessary
and can take as long as 10ms per MDIO transactions while we re-apply
workarounds because we do not yet have MDIO interrupts enabled.

phy_resume() takes care of re-apply our workarounds in case we need any,
and bcmgenet_power_up() does a PHY hardware reset, all of this is more
than enough to guarantee that the PHY operates correctly.

Ralf Baechle dd0bc75ee3 MIPS: SB1: Remove support for Pass 1 parts.
Pass 1 parts had a number of significant erratas and were only available
in small numbers and under NDA.  Full support also required the use of a
special toolchain that kept branches properly aligned.  These workarounds
were never upstreamed and the only toolchain known to have them is
Montavista's GCC 3.0-based toolchain which completly obsoleted if not
useless these days.

So now that automated testing has tripped over the user of the
-msb1-pass1-workarounds option, rather than fixing it remove support for
pass 1 parts.

Probably nobody will notice.  I seem to own the last know pass 1 board
and I haven't noticed another one in the wild in the past decade, at
least.

Florian Fainelli 7b635da868 net: bcmgenet: workaround initial read failures for integrated PHYs
All BCM7xxx integrated Gigabit PHYs have an issue in their MDIO
management controller which will make the initial read or write to them
to fail and return 0xffff. This is a real issue as the typical first
thing we do is read from MII_PHYSID1 and MII_PHYSID2 from get_phy_id()
to register a driver for these PHYs.

Coupled with the workaround in drivers/net/phy/bcm7xxx.c, this
workaround for the MDIO bus controller consists in scanning the list of
PHYs to do this initial read workaround for as part of the MDIO bus
reset routine which is invoked prior to mdiobus_scan().

Once we have a proper PHY driver/device registered, all workarounds are
located there (e.g: power management suspend/resume calls).

Michal Schmidt 8031612d7f bnx2x: fix DMA API usage
With CONFIG_DMA_API_DEBUG=y bnx2x triggers the error "DMA-API: device
driver frees DMA memory with wrong function".
On archs where PAGE_SIZE > SGE_PAGE_SIZE it also triggers "DMA-API:
device driver frees DMA memory with different size".

Fix this by making the mapping and unmapping symmetric:
 - Do not map the whole pool page at once. Instead map the
   SGE_PAGE_SIZE-sized pieces individually, so they can be unmapped in
   the same manner.
 - What's mapped using dma_map_page() must be unmapped using
   dma_unmap_page().

Tested on ppc64.

Due to FW constraints, driver must make sure that transmitted SKBs will
not be too fragmented, or in the case that they are - that each 'window'
of fragments passed to the FW would contain at least an mss worth of data.

For encapsultaed packets the calculation is wrong, since it ignores the
inner headers in the calculation of the headers' length.
This could lead to a FW assertion in case of a too-fragmented encapsulated
packet.

Ariel Elior dc6a20aa3b bnx2x: Fix statistics gathering on link change
Since driver statistics flow access MACs and those might reset during
link re-configurations, when we're about to change link properties we
have to make sure that statistics are not operational.
Statisics would be re-enabled [i.e., gathering of statistics would
re-commence] once physical link is achieved again.

Since driver employs a link-flap avoidance scheme, there are scenarios
where driver will receive no indication that the new link is up, and
as a result the statistics would not be re-enabled.

Preventing LFA from working in such cases would guarantee that we'll
always receive such indications and thus will fix statistics gathering.

Manish Chopra ad6afbe957 bnx2x: Don't notify about scratchpad parities
The scratchpad is a shared block between all functions of a given device.
Due to HW limitations, we can't properly close its parity notifications
to all functions on legal flows.
E.g., it's possible that while taking a register dump from one function
a parity error would be triggered on other functions.

Today driver doesn't consider this parity as a 'real' parity unless its
being accompanied by additional indications [which would happen in a real
parity scenario]; But it does print notifications for such events in the
system logs.

This eliminates such prints - in case of real parities driver would have
additional indications; But if this is the only signal user will not even
see a parity being logged in the system.

Yuval Mintz 9d18d270d7 bnx2x: Prevent false warning when accessing MACs
Each time a flow finishes reads from the classification shadow
configuration in the driver, that flow would check for pending commands
and pass them to FW if possible.
In case there's already a completion pending command, I.e., a ramrod
that has been sent to the FW and is yet to be completed while said flow
tries to configure the pending command we would get a false error message
in logs [and panic if SOE was used for driver compilation] since the
command could not have been completed.

This prevents said print [and panic]; The pending command will be sent by
the time the completion of the current sent command would arrive.

Yuval Mintz 1359d73c1d bnx2x: Correct asymmetric flow-control
This fixes several issues relating to asymmetric configuration:
 1. When user requests to disable TX, the local-device needs to
    advertise both PAUSE and ASM_DIR, but to avoid transmitting pause
    frames. In the 578xx, it would ignore the TX disable.

 2. When user advertises RX-only, ASM_DIR was advertised instead of
    PAUSE/ASM_DIR.

 3. When changing mode, the advertised PAUSE/ASM_DIR was not cleared
    before setting new one, so disabling RX or TX had no impact on the
    'advertised' as appeared in the 'ethtool -a' output.

Paul Gortmaker 138b15ed87 drivers/net: remove all references to obsolete Ethernet-HOWTO
This howto made sense in the 1990s when users had to manually configure
ISA cards with jumpers or vendor utilities, but with the implementation
of PCI it became increasingly less and less relevant, to the point where
it has been well over a decade since I last updated it.  And there is
no value in anyone else taking over updating it either.

However the references to it continue to spread as boiler plate text
from one Kconfig file into the next.  We are not doing end users any
favours by pointing them at this old document, so lets kill it with
fire, once and for all, to hopefully stop any further spread.

No code is changed in this commit, just Kconfig help text.

Florian Fainelli 9d3366e95d net: bcmgenet: handle broken turn-around for specific PHYs
Some Ethernet PHYs/switches such as Broadcom's BCM53125 have a hardware
bug which makes them not release the MDIO line during turn-around time.
This gets flagged by the GENET MDIO controller as a read failure, and we
fail the read transaction.

Check the MDIO bus phy_ignore_ta_mask bitmask for the PHY we are reading
from and if it is listed in this bitmask, ignore the read failure and
proceed with returning the data we read out of the controller.

maintained pointers and hardware registers to help troubleshoot TX queue
stalls.

When a timeout occurs, disable TX NAPI for the rings, dump their states

control to help with the recovery.

Gabriel Krisman Bertazi 4cace675d6 bnx2x: Alloc 4k fragment for each rx ring buffer element
The driver allocates one page for each buffer on the rx ring, which is
too much on architectures like ppc64 and can cause unexpected allocation
failures when the system is under stress.  Now, we keep a memory pool
per queue, and if the architecture's PAGE_SIZE is greater than 4k, we
fragment pages and assign each 4k segment to a ring element, which
reduces the overall memory consumption on such architectures.  This
helps avoiding errors like the example below:

is being accessed via a timer which is forbidden.

accessing the mutex in interrupt context]

This moves the implementation into using a semaphore [with size '1']
instead.

Florian Fainelli c73b01837e net: systemport: rewrite bcm_sysport_rx_refill
Currently, bcm_sysport_desc_rx() calls bcm_sysport_rx_refill() at the end of Rx
packet processing loop, after the current Rx packet has already been passed to
napi_gro_receive(). However, bcm_sysport_rx_refill() might fail to allocate a new
Rx skb, thus leaving a hole on the Rx queue where no valid Rx buffer exists.

To eliminate this situation:

1. Rewrite bcm_sysport_rx_refill() to retain the current Rx skb on the
Rx queue if a new replacement Rx skb can't be allocated and DMA-mapped.
In this case, the data on the current Rx skb is effectively dropped.

2. Modify bcm_sysport_desc_rx() to call bcm_sysport_rx_refill() at the
top of Rx packet processing loop, so that the new replacement Rx skb is
already in place before the current Rx skb is processed.

This is loosely inspired from d6707bec59 ("net: bcmgenet: rewrite
bcmgenet_rx_refill()")

Michal Schmidt cd9c399777 bnx2x: limit fw delay in kdump to 5s after boot
Commit 12a8541d5c "bnx2x: Delay during kdump load" added a 5 seconds
delay to bnx2x's probe function in the kdump case to let the firmware
realize the old driver is gone.

The problem with the delay is that it is per-device, so if you have
several bnx2x NICs in NPAR mode, the delays can accumulate to minutes.

Fix it by adjusting the delay so that we do not wait more than
necessary, i.e. no more delaying after 5 seconds of kernel boot time.

Yuval Mintz 12a8541d5c bnx2x: Delay during kdump load
In a kdump environment interfaces might be re-loaded without a proper
unload sequence in the previous running kernel.
bnx2x management FW and driver maintains a `pulse' that notifies the FW
that the driver is still up and running.

Driver load on the kdump kernel should be performed only after the pulse
has been out-of-sync long enough for the management FW to identify that
the driver has crashed, on which point it will perform some necessary
cleanup of the HW.

In today's distros kdump loading is quite fast, sometimes too fast for our
FW to get out-of-sync. This patch delays the bnx2x's probe during kdump
to allow a proper re-load on the kdump kernel.

Michal Schmidt 22a8f237c0 bnx2x: really disable TPA if 'disable_tpa' option is set
bnx2x's 'disable_tpa=1' module option is not respected properly and TPA
(transparent packet aggregation) remains enabled. Even though the
module option causes LRO to be disabled, TPA is enabled in GRO mode.

Additionally, disabling GRO via ethtool then has no effect. One can
still observe tpa_* statistics increase and large packets being received
in tcpdump.

The bug was an unintended consequence of commit aebf6244cd "bnx2x: Be
more forgiving toward SW GRO".

Fix it by following the bp->disable_tpa flag when initializing fp's.

Yuval Mintz 909d9faae2 bnx2x: Prevent inner-reload while VFs exist
On some feature changes, driver employes an inner-reload flow where it
resets the function and re-configures it with the new required set of
parameters.

Such a flow proves fatal to any VF since those were not intended to be used
while HW is being reset underneath, causing them [at best] to lose all
connectivity.

This changes driver behavior to fail all configuration changes [e.g., mtu
change] requested of the driver in case VFs are active.

Eric Dumazet 074975d037 bnx2x: Fix busy_poll vs netpoll
Commit 9a2620c877 ("bnx2x: prevent WARN during driver unload")
switched the napi/busy_lock locking mechanism from spin_lock() into
spin_lock_bh(), breaking inter-operability with netconsole, as netpoll
disables interrupts prior to calling our napi mechanism.

This switches the driver into using atomic assignments instead of the
spinlock mechanisms previously employed.

Based on initial patch from Yuval Mintz & Ariel Elior

I basically added softirq starvation avoidance, and mixture
of atomic operations, plain writes and barriers.

Note this slightly reduces the overhead for this driver when no
busy_poll sockets are in use.

Felix Fietkau 4668ae1fbc bgmac: fix DMA rx corruption
The driver needs to inform the hardware about the first invalid (not yet
filled) rx slot, by writing its DMA descriptor pointer offset to the
BGMAC_DMA_RX_INDEX register.

This register was set to a value exceeding the rx ring size, effectively
allowing the hardware constant access to the full ring, regardless of
which slots are initialized.

To fix this issue, always mark the last filled rx slot as invalid.

Felix Fietkau eb64e2923a bgmac: leave interrupts disabled as long as there is work to do
Always poll rx and tx during NAPI poll instead of relying on the status
of the first interrupt. This prevents bgmac_poll from leaving unfinished
work around until the next IRQ.
In my tests this makes bridging/routing throughput under heavy load more
stable and ensures that no new IRQs arrive as long as bgmac_poll uses up
the entire budget.

Petri Gynther 8d88c6ebb3 net: bcmgenet: enable MoCA link state change detection
Currently, MoCA fixed PHYs are always in link-up state, regardless of
whether the link is actually up or not.

Add code to properly detect MoCA link state changes and to reflect the
new state in MoCA fixed PHY. Only GENET V3 and V4 MACs are capable of
detecting MoCA link state changes.

The code works as follows:
1. GENET MAC detects MoCA link state change and issues UMAC_IRQ_LINK_UP
   or UMAC_IRQ_LINK_DOWN interrupt.
2. Link up/down interrupt is processed in bcmgenet_irq_task(), which
   calls phy_mac_interrupt().
3. phy_mac_interrupt() updates the fixed PHY phydev->link and kicks
   the PHY state machine.
4. PHY state machine proceeds to read the fixed PHY link status
   register.
5. When the fixed PHY link status register is being read, the new
   function bcmgenet_fixed_phy_link_update() gets called. It copies
   the fixed PHY phydev->link value to the fixed PHY status->link.
6. PHY state machine receives the new link state of the fixed PHY.
7. MoCA fixed PHY link state now correctly reflects the real MoCA
   hardware link state.

Yuval Mintz da254fbc63 bnx2x: Fix kdump when iommu=on
When IOMM-vtd is active, once main kernel crashes unfinished DMAE transactions
will be blocked, putting the HW in an error state which will cause further
transactions to timeout.

Current employed logic uses wrong macros, causing the first function to be the
only function that cleanups that error state during its probe/load.

This patch allows all the functions to successfully re-load in kdump kernel.

Yuval Mintz 3d6b72534a bnx2x: Fix kdump on 4-port device
When running in a kdump kernel, it's very likely that due to sync. loss with
management firmware the first PCI function to probe and reach the previous
unload flow would decide it can reset the chip and continue onward. While doing
so, it will only close its own Rx port.

On a 4-port device where 2nd port on engine is a 1g-port, the 2nd port would
allow ingress traffic after the chip is reset [assuming it was active on the
first kernel]. This would later cause a HW attention.

This changes driver flow to close both ports' 1g capabilities during the
previous driver unload flow prior to the chip reset.

Rafał Miłecki 138173d4e8 MIPS: BCM47xx: Move NVRAM header to the include/linux/.
There are two reasons for having this header in the common place:
1) Simplifying drivers that read NVRAM entries. We will be able to
   safely call bcm47xx_nvram_* functions without #ifdef-s.
2) Getting NVRAM driver out of MIPS arch code. This is needed to support
   BCM5301X arch which also requires this NVRAM driver. Patch for that
   will follow once we get is reviewed.

Yuval Mintz dff173de84 bnx2x: Fix statistics locking scheme
Statistics' state-machine in bnx2x driver must be synced with various driver
flows, but its current locking scheme manages to be wasteful [using 2 locks +
additional local variable] and prone to race-conditions at the same time,
as the state-machine and 'action' are being accessed under different locks.

In addition, current 'safe exec' isn't in fact safe, since the only guarantee
it gives is that DMA transactions are over, but ramrods might still be running.

This patch cleans up said logic, leaving us with a single lock for the entire
flow and removing the possible races.

Changes from v2:
	- Switched into mutex locking from semaphore locking.
	- Release locks on error flows.

	Failure to acquire lock fails flow instead of printing a warning and
	allowing access to the critical section.

Florian Fainelli a642c4f790 net: bcmgenet: power up and down integrated GPHY when unused
Power up the GPHY while we are bringing-up the network interface, and
conversely, upon bring down, power the GPHY down. In order to avoid
creating hardware hazards, make sure that the GPHY gets powered on
during bcmgenet_open() prior to the UniMAC being reset as the UniMAC may
start creating activity towards the GPHY if we reverse the steps.

On ARM SoCs with bgmac Ethernet hardware we don't have any normal PHY.
There is always a switch attached but it's not even controlled over MDIO
like in case of MIPS devices.
We need a fixed PHY to be able to send/receive packets from the switch.

The be_main.c conflict resolution was really tricky.  The conflict
hunks generated by GIT were very unhelpful, to say the least.  It
split functions in half and moved them around, when the real actual
conflict only existed solely inside of one function, that being
be_map_pci_bars().

So instead, to resolve this, I checked out be_main.c from the top
of net-next, then I applied the be_main.c changes from 'net' since
the last time I merged.  And this worked beautifully.

The inet_diag.c and sysctl_net_core.c conflicts were simple
overlapping changes, and were easily to resolve.

Michal Schmidt a8e0c246da bnx2x: fix encapsulation features on 57710/57711
E1x chips (57710, 57711(E)) have no support for encapsulation
offload. bnx2x incorrectly advertises the support as available.

Setting of those features is conditional on "!CHIP_IS_E1x(bp)", but
the bp struct is not initialized yet at this point and consequently
any chip passes the check.
The check must use the "chip_is_e1x" local variable instead to work
correctly.

Florian Fainelli ae67bf0188 net: bcmgenet: update ring producer index and buffer count in xmit
There is no need to have both bcmgenet_xmit_single() and
bcmgenet_xmit_frag() perform a free_bds decrement and a prod_index
increment by one. In case one of these functions fails to map a SKB or
fragment for transmit, we will return and exit bcmgenet_xmit() with an
error.

We can therefore safely use our local copy of nr_frags to know by how
much we should decrement the number of free buffers available, and by
how much the producer count must be incremented and do this in the tail
of bcmgenet_xmit().

Petri Gynther d6707bec59 net: bcmgenet: rewrite bcmgenet_rx_refill()
Currently, bcmgenet_desc_rx() calls bcmgenet_rx_refill() at the end of
Rx packet processing loop, after the current Rx packet has already been
passed to napi_gro_receive(). However, bcmgenet_rx_refill() might fail
to allocate a new Rx skb, thus leaving a hole on the Rx queue where no
valid Rx buffer exists.

To eliminate this situation:
1. Rewrite bcmgenet_rx_refill() to retain the current Rx skb on the Rx
   queue if a new replacement Rx skb can't be allocated and DMA-mapped.
   In this case, the data on the current Rx skb is effectively dropped.
2. Modify bcmgenet_desc_rx() to call bcmgenet_rx_refill() at the top of
   Rx packet processing loop, so that the new replacement Rx skb is
   already in place before the current Rx skb is processed.

Petri Gynther d26ea6cc48 net: bcmgenet: collect Rx discarded packet count
Bits 31:16 of RDMA_PROD_INDEX contain Rx discarded packet count, which
are the Rx packets that had to be dropped by MAC hardware since there
was no room on the Rx queue. Add code to collect this information into
the netdev stats.
