Mohammed Shafi Shajakhan 8b0b6be5cb ath9k_htc: Advertise interface combinations supported
This will allow us to create virtual interface the driver supports.
Also this ensures multivif support and limitation advertised
by the driver is taken care in cfg80211 itself.

Mohammed Shafi Shajakhan be41b05202 ath9k: Ensure we set FTP_STOMP_LOW weight when WLAN is idle
When WLAN is idle ensure we downgrade to FTP_STOMP_LOW weight
(from STOMP_LOW) to provide more bandwidth for BT FTP profile.
WLAN's idleness can be estimated by taking into account of the
rx data packets and just ignore beacons, qos nullfunc etc.

Also update bt_wait_time even if the chip is in NETWORK SLEEP
mode. This should help BT throughput when WLAN is idle.

Christian Lamparter e0509d3bdd carl9170: fix spurious transmissions in sniffer mode
Several people have complained about an unusual
and undocumented feature of the AR9170 hardware:

In siffer mode, the hardware generates spurious
ACK frames for every received frame... even
broadcasts.

The reason for this malfunction is unknown:
<http://marc.info/?l=linux-wireless&m=134517238506033>
But there's a workaround: Instead of the special
sniffer mode, the hardware will be put into
station mode and all rx filters are disabled.

Felix Fietkau 8c6e30936a ath9k: fix stale pointers potentially causing access to free'd skbs
bf->bf_next is only while buffers are chained as part of an A-MPDU
in the tx queue. When a tid queue is flushed (e.g. on tearing down
an aggregation session), frames can be enqueued again as normal
transmission, without bf_next being cleared. This can lead to the
old pointer being dereferenced again later.

This patch might fix crashes and "Failed to stop TX DMA!" messages.

Vasanthakumar Thiagarajan 9233299394 ath6kl: Add support to detect fw error through heart beat

Thomas Pedersen b1f47e3a96 ath6kl: rework scheduled scan
This patch reflects changes in the firmware scheduled scan
implementation to behave better in cases with multiple concurrent vifs.
Major changes:

	- scheduled scan filters and state are now programmed per-vif.
	- decouple scheduled scan from host sleep.

To maintain graceful failure with old firmwares, a new firmware
capability bit is introduced: ATH6KL_FW_CAPABILITY_SCHED_SCAN_V2.
ath6kl simply won't advertise scheduled scan to cfg80211 if the
SCHED_SCAN_V2 is not supported.

Since firmwares from here on out won't support the previous implicit API
for scheduled scan (set WoW filters and host sleep), bump the firmware
API to protect old drivers.

Unfortunately, due to firmware RAM constraints ath6kl still cannot
expect a scan complete event at the end of a scheduled scan results
cycle, so the sched_scan_timer is retained.

Thomas Pedersen b5495e666d ath6kl: restart concurrent vifs on failed connect
When an ath6kl STA vif is issued a connect command, the firmware will
disconnect all other beaconing vifs in preparation for a potential
channel switch. The case where the connect fails is currently unhandled,
so if a connection attempt on a STA vif fails and any vifs were waiting
for a new channel, simply restart the concurrent vifs on their previous
channel.

Requires that we start tracking the last issued channel in ar->last_ch,
which is valid since ath6kl only supports 1 channel at a time.

channel switch succeeds, to stop recommitting the same failed profile.

Thomas Pedersen fd4377b6ba ath6kl: configure wow filters per-vif
Only WoW filters for the first vif were being set, causing failures to
wake up on any concurrent connected vifs. Handle all per-vif suspend
and resume tasks.

Since cfg80211 issues user wow filters on a per-wiphy basis, set any
custom filters on all connected vifs.

Starting WoW in firmware and setting host sleep mode is still handled on
a global per-phy level. The first vif is always used for bookkeeping
regardless of whether it is connected or not.

WoW is cancelled if no connected vifs are found.

No firmware capability bits or API bump is needed for this patch, as
setting filters for vifs with index > 0 will simply overwrite the index
0 filters in the current implementation. While not correct, this is
identical to the existing behavior.

the support for 60 GHz was added to cfg80211 IEEE80211_NUM_BANDS changed to 3
and this can cause all sort of problems, possibly even memory corruption.
I only found this during code review and didn't notice any bugs, but I'm
sure there are a few lurking somewhere.

To fix this rename unused A_NUM_BANDS to ATH6KL_NUM_BANDS, which is
always defined to be 2, and use that in WMI.

Rajkumar Manoharan 424749c75d ath9k: perform ANI cycle in idle state
As of now the ANI cycle is executed only when the chip is awake.
On idle state case, the station wakes up from network sleep for
beacon reception. Since most of the time, ANI cycle is not syncing
with beacon wakeup, ANI cycle is ignored. Approx 5 mins once, the
calibration is performed. This could affect the connection stability
when the station is idle for long. Even though the OFDM and CCK phy
error rates are too high, ANI is unable to tune its immunity level
as quick enough due to rare execution.

Here the experiment shows that OFDM and CCK levels are at default
even on higher phy error rate.

listenTime=44 OFDM:3 errs=121977/s CCK:2 errs=440818/s ofdm_turn=1

This change ensures that ANI calibration will be exectued atleast
once for every 10 seconds. The below result shows improvements and
immunity levels are adopted quick enough.

Christian Lamparter b4764c809a carl9170: handle traps from firmware loader
This patch changes the way the driver deals with
command responses and traps which are sent through
the special interrupt input endpoint 3.

While the carl9170 firmware does not use this
endpoint for command responses or traps, the
firmware loader on the device does. It uses it
to notify the host about 'watchdog triggered'
in case the firmware/hardware has crashed.

Note:
Even without this patch, the driver is still
able to detect the mishap and reset the device.
But previously it did that because the trap
event caused an out-of-order message sequence
number error, which also triggered a reset.

Arend van Spriel 04b2312a68 wireless: drivers: make use of WLAN_EID_VENDOR_SPECIFIC
The include file linux/ieee80211.h contains three definitions for
the same thing in enum ieee80211_eid due to historic changes:

/* Information Element IDs */
enum ieee80211_eid {
    :
    WLAN_EID_WPA = 221,
    WLAN_EID_GENERIC = 221,
    WLAN_EID_VENDOR_SPECIFIC = 221,
    :
};

The standard refers to this as "vendor specific" element so the
other two definitions are better not used. This patch changes the
wireless drivers to use one definition, ie. WLAN_EID_VENDOR_SPECIFIC.

 9) Use a per-task rather than per-socket page fragment allocator for
outgoing networking traffic. This benefits processes that have very
many mostly idle sockets, which is quite common.

    From Eric Dumazet.

10) Use up to 32K for page fragment allocations, with fallbacks to
smaller sizes when higher order page allocations fail. Benefits are
    a) less segments for driver to process b) less calls to page
allocator c) less waste of space.

11) Allow GRO to be used on GRE tunnels, from Eric Dumazet.

12) VXLAN device driver, one way to handle VLAN issues such as the
limitation of 4096 VLAN IDs yet still have some level of isolation.

13) As usual there is a large boatload of driver changes, with the scale
perhaps tilted towards the wireless side this time around.

namespace changes.

Rajkumar Manoharan a50d1fd452 ath9k_hw: fix BT sleep state on chip wakeup
Whenever both WLAN and BT in/out sleep mode, sometimes WLAN
is not able to take back the shared LNA control after resumes
from sleep mode. The idea is that for WLAN to check if BT owns
LNA control and BT is in sleep mode when WLAN just resumes from
sleep mode. If the condition is true, do a BTCOEX_RC_WARM_RESET
for WLAN to take back the control of shared LNA.
Now the issue is the BT sleep value read from MCI register is
overlooked by assigning u32 into u8. Hence the above condition never
be met so that WLAN used to report beacon losses and frequent
connection drops.

Its more correct to convert btcoex_period to 'us' while

refreshed with the newer duty cycle.

Felix Fietkau 74673db99c ath9k: make PA linearization optional, disabled by default and fix checks
Some checks for PA linearization support checked ATH9K_HW_CAP_PAPRD and some
used the EEPROM ops, leading to issues in tx power handling, since those
two can be out of sync.

Disable the feature by default, since it has been reported that it can
cause damage to the rx path under some circumstances. It can now be enabled

Sujith Manoharan adfbda6224 ath9k: Fix TX filter usage
The TX filter bit for a station would be set by the HW
when a frame is not acked. A frame would be completed with
ATH9K_TXERR_FILT status only when the corresponding filter bit
for the destination station is already set.

Currently, un-acknowledged packets are added to the pending queue
and retried, but the "clear_dest_mask" bit in the descriptor is
set only when the TX status has been ATH9K_TXERR_FILT. This results
in packet loss and the log shows:

wlan0: dropped TX filtered frame, queue_len=0 PS=0 @4309746071
wlan0: dropped TX filtered frame, queue_len=0 PS=0 @4309746076
wlan0: dropped TX filtered frame, queue_len=0 PS=0 @4309746377
...
...

This issue can be resolved by making sure that the destination
mask is cleared when the packet is being retried and the earlier
TX status is ATH9K_TXERR_XRETRY.

Ming Lei 32e31de5c3 wireless: ath9k-htc: only load firmware in need
It is not necessary to hold the firmware memory during the whole
driver lifetime, and obviously it does waste memory. Suppose there
are 4 ath9k-htc usb dongles working, kernel has to consume about
4*50KBytes RAM to cache firmware for all dongles. After applying the
patch, kernel only caches one single firmware image in RAM for
all ath9k-htc devices just during system suspend/resume cycle.

When system is ready for loading firmware, ath9k-htc can request
the loading from usersapce. During system resume, ath9k-htc still
can load the firmware which was cached in kernel memory before
system suspend.

Felix Fietkau b3ccc1a562 ath9k_hw: enable PA linearization
This feature had been disabled in ath9k because the code to support
it was incomplete, but now the code is in sync with the internal QCA
codebase, so it's time to enable it.

On many newer devices, the calibration is assumed to be done with PA
linearization enabled.

Tests with a particular AR933x device showed that the signal emitted
at full power was highly distorted and unreliable with PA linearization
disabled. With this patch, the signal becomes clear and stability
is improved.

Thomas Huehn 3a245cbef6 ath5k: fix wrong max power per rate eeprom reads for 802.11a
This patch reduces the per rate target power eeprom reads for
AR5K_EEPROM_MODE_11A from 10 to 8, as there are only 8 valid
power curve entries on the eeprom. The former 10 reads lead to
equal max power limits per rate and this causes an increasing
distortion for all rates above 24 MBit and leads to a needless
poor performance in 802.11a mode.

Bob Copeland 7dd6753f6d ath5k: fix spin_lock_irqsave/spin_lock_bh nesting in mesh
Lockdep found an inconsistent lock state when joining a mesh with
ath5k. The problem is that ath5k takes the lock for its beacon state,
ah->block, with spin_lock_irqsave(), while mesh internally takes the
sync_offset_lock with spin_lock_bh() in mesh_sync_offset_adjust_tbtt(),
which in turn is called under ah->block.

This could deadlock if the beacon tasklet was run on the processor
that held the beacon lock during the do_softirq() in spin_unlock_bh().

We probably shouldn't hold the lock around the callbacks, but the
easiest fix is to switch to spin_lock_bh for ah->block: it doesn't
need interrupts disabled anyway as the data in question is only accessed
in softirq or process context.

Fixes the following lockdep warning:

Lorenzo Bianconi e1352fde56 ath9k: fix decrypt_error initialization in ath_rx_tasklet()
ath_rx_tasklet() calls ath9k_rx_skb_preprocess() and ath9k_rx_skb_postprocess()
in a loop over the received frames. The decrypt_error flag is
initialized to false
just outside ath_rx_tasklet() loop. ath9k_rx_accept(), called by
ath9k_rx_skb_preprocess(),
only sets decrypt_error to true and never to false.
Then ath_rx_tasklet() calls ath9k_rx_skb_postprocess() and passes
decrypt_error to it.
So, after a decryption error, in ath9k_rx_skb_postprocess(), we can
have a leftover value
from another processed frame. In that case, the frame will not be marked with
RX_FLAG_DECRYPTED even if it is decrypted correctly.
When using CCMP encryption this issue can lead to connection stuck
because of CCMP
PN corruption and a waste of CPU time since mac80211 tries to decrypt an already
deciphered frame with ieee80211_aes_ccm_decrypt.
Fix the issue initializing decrypt_error flag at the begging of the
ath_rx_tasklet() loop.

Felix Fietkau f41a9b3b15 ath9k: fix interrupt storms on queued hardware reset
commit b74713d04e
"ath9k: Handle fatal interrupts properly" introduced a race condition, where
IRQs are being left enabled, however the irq handler returns IRQ_HANDLED
while the reset is still queued without addressing the IRQ cause.
This leads to an IRQ storm that prevents the system from even getting to
the reset code.

Fix this by disabling IRQs in the handler without touching intr_ref_cnt.

Felix Fietkau aa5955c36f ath9k: fix aggregate size limit based on queue TXOP limit
If the aggregate size exceeds the TXOP limit, it leads to lots of unnecessary
hardware and software retries.

The previous 4ms frame limit table was completely undocumented, the commit
that updated it only vaguely referenced and equation from the standard,
but I've been unable to replicate its results.

Fix this by using a formula based on the code in ath_pkt_duration, which is
more likely to be correct for this case.

Christian Lamparter c9122c0d63 carl9170: fix HT peer BA session corruption
This patch adds an alternative tx status path
for BlockAck Requests as the hardware doesn't
recognize that a BlockAck Requests is usually
acked with a BlockAck and not a legacy ACK.

Without this patch, the stack would constantly
resent old and stale BARs. So, depending on the
receiver stack, this could lead to:

 - "stuck" ba sessions and package loss, as the
stale BAR would reset the sequence each time.

 - lots of reorder releases.

Rajkumar Manoharan 83bfea4219 ath9k_hw: fix AR9462 2g5g switch on full reset
On full reset, mci reset will put LNA update on 2G mode. And
Whenever 2g5g_switch is forced at the end of full reset, lna
update should not be skipped. Not doing so, is affecting WLAN
rx and causing beacon loss when BTCOEX is enabled on AR9462.

Rajkumar Manoharan 08d4df410a ath9k: fix power consumption on network sleep when BTCOEX is enabled
The chip is waken up for every 45ms in btcoex timer cycle to
for sharing the radio between BT and WLAN. Whenever the wlan
interface is in network sleep mode, do not schedule hw timers.
This could reduce power consumption on idle associated state.

Rajkumar Manoharan b73f3e7804 ath9k: fix fullsleep power consumption when BTCOEX is enabled
As soon as the interface brought up, btcoex timer starts running
eventhough the interface is in idle state and WLAN chip is moved
to full sleep mode. There is no point in running btcoex timer when
the wlan interface is in sleep mode and also it might consumes
more power on WLAN idle unassociated state. So lets stop the
btcoex when wlan is idle state.

Rajkumar Manoharan 54717e5330 ath9k_hw: do not load noise floor readings when it is running
Noise floor calibration is performed on longcal interval and
the reading will be updated in history buffer. On rare occasions,
the previous noisefloor calibration might not be completed within
the period and trying to load nf reading will be failed. In such
situation, postpone the nf cabliration to next cycle to give
enough time to complete the calibration. This was already taken
care for ar9002 chips.

Johannes Berg 71bbc99438 cfg80211: use wdev in mgmt-tx/ROC APIs
The management frame and remain-on-channel APIs will be
needed in the P2P device abstraction, so move them over
to the new wdev-based APIs. Userspace can still use both
the interface index and wdev identifier for them so it's
backward compatible, but for the P2P Device wdev it will
be able to use the wdev identifier only.
