Wilfried Klaebe 7ad24ea4bf net: get rid of SET_ETHTOOL_OPS
net: get rid of SET_ETHTOOL_OPS

Dave Miller mentioned he'd like to see SET_ETHTOOL_OPS gone.
This does that.

Mostly done via coccinelle script:
@@
struct ethtool_ops *ops;
struct net_device *dev;
@@
-       SET_ETHTOOL_OPS(dev, ops);
+       dev->ethtool_ops = ops;

Compile tested only, but I'd seriously wonder if this broke anything.

Eric W. Biederman 8fa9524d6b 3c509: Call dev_consume_skb_any instead of dev_kfree_skb.
Replace dev_kfree_skb with dev_consume_skb_any in el3_start_xmit
as it can be called in hard irq and other contexts.

dev_consume_skb_any is used as on this simple hardware the
skb is consumed directly by the start_xmit function.

dingtianhong ae237b3ede net: 3com: fix warning for incorrect type in argument
The commit c466a9b2b3
(net: 3com: slight optimization of addr compare)
cause a warning: "passing argument 1 of 'ether_addr_equal'
from incompatible pointer type", so fix it.

I think julia will convert ether_addr_equal to ether_addr_equal_64bits later.

to instead of memcmp.

Matthew Whitehead 3b54912f9c 3c509.c: call SET_NETDEV_DEV for all device types (ISA/ISAPnP/EISA)
The venerable 3c509 driver only sets its device parent in one case, the ISAPnP one.
It does this with the SET_NETDEV_DEV function. It should register with the device
hierarchy in two additional cases: standard (non-PnP) ISA and EISA.

- Currently they appear here:
/sys/devices/virtual/net/eth0 (standard ISA)
/sys/devices/virtual/net/eth1 (EISA)

- Rather, they should instead be here:
/sys/devices/isa/3c509.0/net/eth0 (standard ISA)
/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:07.0/00:04/net/eth1 (EISA)

Tested on ISA and EISA boards.

Jiri Pirko 7826d43f2d ethtool: fix drvinfo strings set in drivers
Use strlcpy where possible to ensure the string is \0 terminated.
Use always sizeof(string) instead of 32, ETHTOOL_BUSINFO_LEN
and custom defines.
Use snprintf instead of sprint.

Greg Kroah-Hartman 1dd06ae8db drivers/net: fix up function prototypes after __dev* removals
The __dev* removal patches for the network drivers ended up messing up
the function prototypes for a bunch of drivers. This patch fixes all of
them back up to be properly aligned.

Bonus is that this almost removes 100 lines of code, always a nice
surprise.

Paul Gortmaker a5e371f61a drivers/net: delete all code/drivers depending on CONFIG_MCA
The support for CONFIG_MCA is being removed, since the 20
year old hardware simply isn't capable of meeting today's
software demands on CPU and memory resources.

This commit removes any MCA specific net drivers, and removes
any MCA specific probe/support code from drivers that were
doing a dual ISA/MCA role.
