ASoC: mmp-sspa: Remove the embedded struct ssp_device
The "serial port" it represents is actually a SPI controller -- it's not
clear why would the audio serial interface embed it. We're only using
the mmio_base and clk fields.

ASoC: mmp-sspa: Add support for soc-generic-dmaengine-pcm
This makes the driver usable with the mmp_tdma drier via
soc-generic-dmaengine-pcm. This is conditionalized on DT node (support
for DT is added by a later patch).

A custom mmap callback that creates a NC mapping is used instead of the
default WC one, because with write-combining some bytes don't seem to
make it through for reasons unknown to me.

ASoC: mmp-sspa: Get rid of dma_params and phys_base
This makes things simpler. There's no reason not to just embed the struct
snd_dmaengine_dai_dma_data in struct sspa_priv and do away with an
unnecessary kmalloc(). While at that, we can initialize the
snd_dmaengine_dai_dma_data structures earlier.

Let's also stop offsetting the source/destination of the DMA transfer by
phys_base. Firstly, it's never set and is always zero. Secondly, the
hardware actually ignores it, at least on a MMP2 and MMP3.

ASoC: mmp-sspa: Drop S20_3LE case
It does nothing, because the corresponding bit s not flipped on in .formats
and the audio SRAM DMA engine is not able to handle 20-bit transfers
anyway.

Merge series "ASoC: remove rtd->cpu/codec_dai{s}" from Kuninori Morimoto <kuninori.morimoto.gx@renesas.com>:
Hi Mark

Now, CPU/Codec DAI(s) were replaced by rtd->dais.
Thus, We don't need rtd->cpu/codec_dai{s} anymore.
This pathset replaces it by new macro.

ASoC: pxa: pxa2xx-i2s: move .suspend/.resume to component
There is no big difference at implementation for .suspend/.resume
between DAI driver and Component driver.
But because some driver is using DAI version, thus ALSA SoC needs
to keep supporting it, hence, framework becoming verbose.
If we can switch all DAI driver .suspend/.resume to Component driver,
we can remove verbose code from ALSA SoC.

Driver is getting its private data via dai->dev.
But dai->dev and component->dev are same dev, thus, we can convert
these. For same reason, we can convert dai->active to
component->active if necessary.

Linus Torvalds 3f1b210a7f sound updates for 5.5-rc1
There have been some significant changes in the core side, both for
ALSA and ASoC, while lots of development have been seen in SOF, as
well as many small fixes/improvements for ASoC codecs and platforms.
Below is a highlight in this cycle:

 Core:
 - The unification of PCM vmalloc buffer allocation helpers into the
   standard API
 - Clean up of the default PCM mmap handling for vmalloc & SG-buffer
 - Fix potential races at ALSA timer open
 - A few new PCM API extensions; just preliminary core changes, the
actual changes in drivers will be merged in 5.6
 - Continued ASoC componentization works; now almost everything is a
common ASoC component object. A lot of refactoring and
simplification have been done along with it.

 ASoC:
 - Many fixes to the Sound Open Firmware (SOF) code
 - Wake on voice support for Chromebooks
 - SPI support and trigger word detection for RT5677
 - New drivers for Analog Devices ADAU7118, Intel Cannonlake systems
   with RT1011 and RT5682, Texas Instruments TAS2562 and TAS2770

 HD-audio:
 - Improved Intel DSP configuration / probe code for SOF
 - Plumbing the legacy HD-audio driver with Intel SOF HDMI
 - DP-MST support for Nvidia HDMI codecs
 - Realtek quirks cleanups and new additions as usual

 Others:
 - Lots of refactoring and cleanups for FireWire; period-size sharing,
h/w IRQ interval configuration, clock recovery improvements, etc
 - USB-audio: Scarlett mixer quirks
 - Cleanups of PCM calls in various drivers (including media and USB)
to adapt the core API changes

ASoC: pxa: change ac97 dependencies
Enabling both the old AC97_BUS code and the new AC97_BUS_COMPAT causes
problems because both modules provide an exported snd_ac97_reset()
function.

I had tried to fix the problem of having both coexist earlier, but
my patch only prevented them from being built-in. This is because
of a special Kconfig feature that lets a symbol have a dependency
on another one being disabled, but still allow both to be loadable
modules.

Changing the dependency to =n avoids that problem, now we can only
build the new driver if the old one is completely disabled.

If we could figure out a way to let rename one of the reset
functions and have each driver link to exactly the old or
the compat code, that would also work, but I could not find if
that's possible.

Now that the PXA SSP bits are ported over to generic DMA, the pxa2xx-pcm

Now the dma_slave_map is available for PXA architecture, switch the SSP

This specifically means that :
- for platform data based machines, the DMA requestor channels are
extracted from the slave map, where pxa-ssp-dai.<N> is a 1-1 match to
ssp.<N>, and the channels are either "rx" or "tx".

- for device tree platforms, the dma node should be hooked into the

Kees Cook a86854d0c5 treewide: devm_kzalloc() -> devm_kcalloc()
The devm_kzalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, devm_kcalloc().
This patch replaces cases of:

        devm_kzalloc(handle, a * b, gfp)

with:
        devm_kcalloc(handle, a * b, gfp)

as well as handling cases of:

        devm_kzalloc(handle, a * b * c, gfp)

with:

        devm_kzalloc(handle, array3_size(a, b, c), gfp)

as it's slightly less ugly than:

        devm_kcalloc(handle, array_size(a, b), c, gfp)

This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like:

        devm_kzalloc(handle, 4 * 1024, gfp)

though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion.

Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were
dropped, since they're redundant.

Some manual whitespace fixes were needed in this patch, as Coccinelle
really liked to write "=devm_kcalloc..." instead of "= devm_kcalloc...".

The Coccinelle script used for this was:

ASoC: pxa-ssp: allow more flexible setup order
The pxa-ssp driver currently assumes that .set_fmt() is called before
.set_clkdiv(), .set_pll() etc.

Commit a8bd0ee558 ("ASoC: raumfeld: Use static DAI format setup") broke
support for Raumfeld hardware (and possible other PXA based ones) because
it effectively changed the order of these calls. Also, as the call to
.set_fmt() is now done at probe time, the port clock is not yet enabled.

To fix this, strip all hardware register access code from the .set_fmt()
callback and memorize the desired value, so we can use it from the
.hw_params() callback. Also make the .set_fmt() callback less destructive
by reading all registers that it writes to in the beginning and only
masking out the bits that it possibly fiddles with.

ASoC: Remove depends on HAS_DMA in case of platform dependency
Remove dependencies on HAS_DMA where a Kconfig symbol depends on another
symbol that implies HAS_DMA, and, optionally, on "|| COMPILE_TEST".
In most cases this other symbol is an architecture or platform specific
symbol, or PCI.

Generic symbols and drivers without platform dependencies keep their
dependencies on HAS_DMA, to prevent compiling subsystems or drivers that
cannot work anyway.

This simplifies the dependencies, and allows to improve compile-testing.

Note:
  - The various SND_SOC_LPASS_* symbols had to loose their dependencies
on HAS_DMA, as they are selected by SND_SOC_STORM and/or
    SND_SOC_APQ8016_SBC.

Greg Kroah-Hartman b24413180f License cleanup: add SPDX GPL-2.0 license identifier to files with no license
Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which
makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license.

By default all files without license information are under the default
license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2.

Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0'
SPDX license identifier. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding
shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text.

This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and
Philippe Ombredanne.

How this work was done:

Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of
the use cases:
 - file had no licensing information it it.
 - file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it,
 - file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information,

Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases
where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license
had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords.

The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to
a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the
output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX
tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne. Philippe prepared the
base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files.

The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files
assessed. Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner
results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s)
to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not
immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was:
 - Files considered eligible had to be source code files.
 - Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5
   lines of source
 - File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5
   lines).

All documentation files were explicitly excluded.

The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license
identifiers to apply.

 - when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was
considered to have no license information in it, and the top level
   COPYING file license applied.

For non */uapi/* files that summary was:

   SPDX license identifier # files
   ---------------------------------------------------|-------
   GPL-2.0 11139

and resulted in the first patch in this series.

If that file was a */uapi/* path one, it was "GPL-2.0 WITH
Linux-syscall-note" otherwise it was "GPL-2.0". Results of that was:

   SPDX license identifier # files
   ---------------------------------------------------|-------
   GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 930

and resulted in the second patch in this series.

 - if a file had some form of licensing information in it, and was one
of the */uapi/* ones, it was denoted with the Linux-syscall-note if
any GPL family license was found in the file or had no licensing in
it (per prior point). Results summary:

   SPDX license identifier # files
   ---------------------------------------------------|------
   GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 270
   GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 169
   ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-2-Clause) 21
   ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 17
   LGPL-2.1+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 15
   GPL-1.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 14
   ((GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 5
   LGPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 4
   LGPL-2.1 WITH Linux-syscall-note 3
   ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR MIT) 3
   ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) AND MIT) 1

and that resulted in the third patch in this series.

 - when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became
   the concluded license(s).

 - when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a
license but the other didn't, or they both detected different
licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred.

 - In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file
resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and
which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics).

 - When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was
confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

 - If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier,
the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later
   in time.

In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the
spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the
source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation
by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from
FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners
disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights. The
Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so

Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets
for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the
files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks
in about 15000 files.

In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have
copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the
correct identifier.

Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual
inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch
version early this week with:
 - a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected
   license ids and scores
 - reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+
files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct
 - reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license
was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied
   SPDX license was correct

This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction. This
worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the
different types of files to be modified.

These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg. Thomas wrote a script to
parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the
format that the file expected. This script was further refined by Greg
based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to
distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different
comment types.) Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to
generate the patches.

Robert Jarzmik 6f8acad646 ASoC: arm: make pxa2xx-ac97-lib ac97 codec agnostic
All pxa library functions don't use the input parameters for nothing but
slot number. This simplifies their prototypes, and makes them usable by

Arvind Yadav d7622fa715 ASoC: pxa: constify snd_pcm_ops structures
snd_pcm_ops are not supposed to change at runtime. All functions
