The suspended flag will only be set if the CODEC bias level was either
STANDBY or OFF. This means we don't need to check for that on resume since
the condition will always be true.

Some CODECs have a significant number of DAPM routes and for each route,
when it is added to the card, the entire card widget list must be
searched. When adding routes it is very likely, however, that adjacent
routes will require adjacent widgets. For example all the routes for a
mux are likely added in a block and the sink widget will be the same
each time and it is also quite likely that the source widgets are
sequential located in the widget list.
This patch adds a cache to the DAPM context, this cache will hold the
source and sink widgets from the last call to snd_soc_dapm_add_route for
that context. A small search of the widget list will be made from those
points for both the sink and source. Currently this search only checks
both the last widget and the one adjacent to it.
On wm8280 which has approximately 500 widgets and 30000 routes (one of
the largest CODECs in mainline), the number of paths that hit the cache
is 24000, which significantly improves probe time.

Also drop the unnecessary check at the beginning of the
uda1380_set_bias_level() which compares the current level to the target
level and aborts if they are the same. Since the core will not call the
set_bias_level() callback if we already are in the target state the result

Currently snd_soc_dapm_add_route will continue to search the widget list
even after both the source and sink for the route have been located.
This patch breaks out of the search when both are located giving a
small improvement in probe time for drivers.

A demux is conceptually similar to a mux. Where a mux has multiple input
and one output and selects one of the inputs to be connected to the output,
the demux has one input and multiple outputs and selects one of the outputs
to which the input gets connected.
This similarity makes it straight forward to support them in DAPM using the
existing mux support, we only need to swap sinks and sources when initially
setting up the paths.
The only slightly tricky part is that there can only be one control per
path. Since mixers/muxes are at the sink of a path and a demux is at the
source and both types want a control it is not possible to directly connect
a demux output to a mixer/mux input. The patch adds some sanity checks to
make sure that this does not happen.
Drivers who want to model hardware which directly connects a demux output
to a mixer/mux input can do this by inserting a dummy widget between the
two. E.g.:

Currently new widgets are appended to the beginning of the cards widget
list. This has the effect that widgets that are created while iterating
over the widget list in snd_soc_dapm_new_widgets() (like e.g. the
auto-disable widgets) are not covered during that invocation of the
function. If no further invocations of snd_soc_dapm_new_widgets() happen
these widgets will not be fully initialized and e.g. no debugfs entries are
created for them.
By adding new widgets to the end of the widget list we make sure that
widgets that are created in snd_soc_dapm_new_widgets() will still be
handled during the same snd_soc_dapm_new_widgets() invocation and are
always fully initialized.

Commit 57295073b6 ("ASoC: dapm: Implement mixer input auto-disable")
added support for autodisable controls, controls whose values are only
written to the hardware when their respective widgets are powered up.
But it only added support for controls based on the mixer abstraction.
This patch add support for mux controls (DAPM controls based on the
enum abstraction) to be auto-disabled as well. As each mux can only have
a single control, there is no need to tie the autodisable widget to the
inputs (as is done for the mixer controls) it can be tided directly to
the mux widget itself.
Note that it is assumed that the first entry in a autodisable mux
control will always represent the off state for the mux and is what the
mux will be set to whilst it is disabled.

Use the new snd_soc_codec_force_bias_level() helper function to invoke the
bias_level callback of a driver instead of calling the callback by hand.
Currently the effect of this is the same, but having all bias level updates
go through a central place will allow us to move more of the bias level
management into the DAPM core.

Currently drivers are responsible for managing the bias_level field of
their DAPM context. The DAPM state itself is managed by the DAPM core
though and the core has certain expectations on how and when the bias_level
field should be updated. If drivers don't adhere to these undefined
behavior can occur.
This patch adds a few helper functions for manipulating the DAPM context
state, each function with a description on when it should be used and what
its effects are. This will also help us to move more of the bias_level
management from drivers to the DAPM core.
For convenience also add snd_soc_codec_* wrappers around these helpers.

There have been major modernization with the standard bus: in ALSA
sequencer core and HD-audio. Also, HD-audio receives the regmap
support replacing the in-house cache register cache code. These
changes shouldn't impact the existing behavior, but rather
refactoring.

All CODEC input and output widgets are either in the DAPM routing table or
manually marked as non-connected. This means the card is fully routed and we
can let the core take care of disconnecting non-connected pins.

Some callers of n810_ext_control() pass the card DAPM context and some pass
the CODEC DAPM context. Given that some of the widgets that are accessed in
the function are in the card's context, always passing it is the obvious
choice.

The SND_AT91_SOC_SAM9G20_WM8731 and SND_AT91_SOC_SAM9X5_WM8731 machine
driver symbols select SND_SOC_WM8731 which depends on SND_SOC_I2C_AND_SPI.
So the machine driver symbols need to depend on SND_SOC_I2C_AND_SPI as well,
otherwise we might end up with a invalid configuration, which will sooner or
later upset the randconfig auto-builders.

The r-car sound driver only works when CONFIG_OF is set, and
after a recent change has a compile-time dependency as well:

This could be fixed either by adding a static inline wrapper
for the function, or by adding a Kconfig dependency. This
implements the second approach, which seems appropriate

Currently GPIO4 is hardcoded to output the pll-lock signal.
Unfortunately this is after the pll-out GPIO is configured which
is selectable in the device tree. Therefore it is not possible to
use GPIO4 for pll-out. Therefore this patch removes the
configuration of GPIO4.

Currently in Intel SST driver, some similar IPC/mailbox processing
code are used in different platforms (e.g. in baytrail/broadwell).
This patch extracts the common code and creates new files
(sst-ipc.c/sst-ipc.h) to contain the common code and provide the generic
APIs for IPC/mailbox processing.

Current snd_soc_runtime_set_dai_fmt() is called after
soc_probe_link_dais(). this means snd_soc_dai_set_fmt() will be
called after soc_new_pcm().
Before appling 1efb53a220
(ASoC: simple-card: Remove support for setting differing DAI formats)
simple-card user had (1) snd_soc_dai_set_fmt() -> soc_new_pcm(),
but, after that it is (2) soc_new_pcm() -> snd_soc_dai_set_fmt().
At least rsnd driver is assuming (1) pattern.
This patch move snd_soc_dai_set_fmt() into soc_probe_link_dais()
after the dai_link->init section to solve this issue.

If the registration of a debugfs directory fails this is treated as a
non-fatal error in ASoC and operation continues as normal. This means we
need to be careful and check if the parent debugfs directory exists if we
try to register a debugfs file or sub-directory. Otherwise we might end up
passing NULL for the parent and the file or directory will be registered in
the top-level debugfs directory.

Failing to register the debugfs entries is not fatal and will not affect
normal operation of the sound card. Don't abort the card registration if
soc_dpcm_debugfs_add() fails.

RT286 can't do register reset. If the hardware power is still existing
in power off, rt286 will keep the register settings. So, we need to
restore the default register value in probe to make sure the cache value
is the same as the real register value.

Create the card debugfs directory at the begining of the initilization
rather then the end as various steps in the initilization sequence will try
to register files and sub-directories in the card directory.

My static checker complains about these because it looks like the
multiply can overflow and then we cast to a larger data type. I don't
think this is a problem, but it's also harmless to do the cast earlier
so let's silence the static checker warning.

Currently both the oscillator and the PLL are powered up in
set_bias_level. This can be problematic when using output clocks from
the wm8804 for other devices. The snd_soc_codec_set_pll API defines that
a clock should be available once the call returns, however, with all the
clocking controlled in set_bias_level this is not currently the case.
This patch enables pm_runtime for the wm8804, enabling both the
regulators and the oscillator when the chip resumes, and enabling the
PLL in the snd_soc_codec_set_pll call. Naturally the enabling the PLL
will also cause the chip to resume.

This change converts the driver to use DAPM to control the power for the
various blocks on the chip. As part of this change the existing controls
"TX Playback Switch" (controlled power for the SPDIF TX block) and "AIF
Playback Switch" (controlled power for the AIF block) are both removed,
as they are now redundant since the power state of those blocks is
controlled automatically by DAPM.
There are several benefits of this change, the most important of which
is this change adds support for powering down the SPDIF RX block. The RX
block will automatically assume control of the PLL on the chip when it
is receiving a signal, so leaving this enabled all the time as was
currently done in the driver can be problematic. An incoming SPDIF signal
that is not being used can completely destroy the clocking for an in use
TX signal. But this change ensures that the RX block will only be
powered when the user intends to be receiving data, thus avoiding this
issue.
Additional benefits include the chip being simpler to operate as the
power no longer needs to be manually controlled between use-cases and a
small power saving (although it is acknowledged that this is likely
unimportant in the typical use-cases for this chip).

Passing &mcasp->ruledata[dir] to snd_pcm_hw_rule_add() is not correct since
commit:
7b3d165a28 ASoC: davinci-mcasp: Index ruledata in drvdata with substream->stream
now sets up the struct based on the substream->stream (0 or 1) while we pass
a pointer which we take with dir (1 or 2). This will lead kernel crash.
