Wolfram Sang 30ae3e13ca mmc: tmio: set max_busy_timeout
Set max_busy_timeouts for variants known to support the TOPxx bits in
the SD_OPTION register. The timeout mechanism was running in the
background but not yet properly handled in the driver. So, let the MMC
core know when to not use R1B to avoid unhandled timeouts.

My datasheets for older variants (tmio_mmc.c) suggest that they support
it, too. However, actual bit descriptions are lacking, so I chose an
opt-in approach.

Douglas Anderson d86472ae8b mmc: Set PROBE_PREFER_ASYNCHRONOUS for drivers that existed in v5.4
This is like commit 3d3451124f3d ("mmc: sdhci-msm: Prefer asynchronous
probe") but applied to a whole pile of drivers.  This batch converts
the drivers that appeared to be around in the v5.4 timeframe.

Masahiro Yamada 5d1f42e14b mmc: uniphier-sd: call devm_request_irq() after tmio_mmc_host_probe()
Currently, tmio_mmc_irq() handler is registered before the host is
fully initialized by tmio_mmc_host_probe(). I did not previously notice
this problem.

The boot ROM of a new Socionext SoC unmasks interrupts (CTL_IRQ_MASK)
somehow. The handler is invoked before tmio_mmc_host_probe(), then
emits noisy call trace.

Move devm_request_irq() below tmio_mmc_host_probe().

Ulf Hansson 8861474a10 Revert "mmc: tmio: move runtime PM enablement to the driver implementations"
This reverts commit 7ff2131933.

It turns out that the above commit introduces other problems. For example,
calling pm_runtime_set_active() must not be done prior calling
pm_runtime_enable() as that makes it fail. This leads to additional
problems, such as clock enables being wrongly balanced.

Rather than fixing the problem on top, let's start over by doing a revert.

Stephen Boyd 9a7957d0c9 mmc: Remove dev_err() usage after platform_get_irq()
We don't need dev_err() messages when platform_get_irq() fails now that
platform_get_irq() prints an error message itself when something goes
wrong. Let's remove these prints with a simple semantic patch.

Niklas Söderlund 7ff2131933 mmc: tmio: move runtime PM enablement to the driver implementations
Both the Renesas and Uniphier implementations perform actions which
affect runtime PM before calling into the core tmio_mmc_host_probe()
which enabled runtime PM. Move pm_runtime_enable() from the core and
tmio_mmc_host_probe() into each drivers probe() so it can be called
before any clocks or other resources are switched on.

Masahiro Yamada b7ced87746 mmc: uniphier-sd: fix DMA disabling
Once DMA is enabled, it is not possible to disable it because
uniphier_sd_dma_endisable() always sets the DMA_ENABLE_DMASDRW bit
regardless of the argument 'enable'. It should disable DMA when
'enable' is false.

Masahiro Yamada d3dd5db0c1 mmc: tmio: simplify the DMA mode test
host->chan_{rx,tx} represents the DMA capability of the platform.
Even if DMA is supported, there are cases where we want to use PIO,
for example, data length is short enough as commit 5f52c35529
("mmc: tmio: use PIO for short transfers") mentioned.

Regarding the hardware control flow, we are interested in whether DMA
is currently enabled or not, instead of whether the platform has the
DMA capability.

Hence, the several conditionals in tmio_mmc_core.c end up with
checking host->chan_{rx,tx} and !host->force_pio. This is not nice.

Let's flip the flag host->force_pio into host->dma_on.

host->dma_on represents whether the DMA is currently enabled or not.
This flag is set false in the beginning of each command, then should
be set true by tmio_mmc_start_dma() when the DMA is turned on.

Masahiro Yamada 3fd784f745 mmc: uniphier-sd: add UniPhier SD/eMMC controller driver
Here is another TMIO MMC variant found in Socionext UniPhier SoCs.

As commit b6147490e6 ("mmc: tmio: split core functionality, DMA and
MFD glue") said, these MMC controllers use the IP from Panasonic.

However, the MMC controller in the TMIO (Toshiba Mobile IO) MFD chip
was the first upstreamed user of this IP.  The common driver code
for this IP is now called 'tmio-mmc-core' in Linux although it is a
historical misnomer.

Anyway, this driver select's MMC_TMIO_CORE to borrow the common code
from tmio-mmc-core.c

Older UniPhier SoCs (LD4, Pro4, sLD8) support the external DMA engine
like renesas_sdhi_sys_dmac.c.  The difference is UniPhier SoCs use a
single DMA channel whereas Renesas chips request separate channels for
RX and TX.

Newer UniPhier SoCs (Pro5 and later) support the internal DMA engine
like renesas_sdhi_internal_dmac.c  The register map is almost the same,
so I guess Renesas and Socionext use the same internal DMA hardware.
The main difference is, the register offsets are doubled for Renesas.

This comes from the difference of host->bus_shift; 2 for Renesas SoCs,
and 1 for UniPhier SoCs.  Also, the datasheet for UniPhier SoCs defines
DM_DTRAN_ADDR and DM_DTRAN_ADDREX as two separate registers.

It could be possible to factor out the DMA common code by introducing
some hooks to cope with platform quirks, but this patch does not touch
that for now.
