The Cypress CY7C6563x is a 2/4-port USB 2.0 hub. Add support for
this hub in the driver in order to bring up reset, supply or clock
dependencies.
There is no reset pulse width given in the datasheet so we expect
a minimal value of 1us to be enough. This hasn't been tested though
due to lack of hardware which has the reset connected to a GPIO.

Most onboard USB hubs have a dedicated crystal oscillator but on some
boards the clock signal for the hub is provided by the SoC.
In order to support this, we add the possibility of specifying a
clock in the devicetree that gets enabled/disabled when the hub
is powered up/down.

When we use an async work queue to perform the function of pumping
usb requests to the usb controller, it is possible that amongst other
factors, thread scheduling affects at what cadence we're able to pump
requests. This could mean isoc usb requests miss their uframes - resulting
in video stream flickers on the host device.
To avoid this, we make the async_wq thread only produce isoc usb_requests
with uvc buffers encoded into them. The process of queueing to the
endpoint is done by the uvc_video_complete() handler. In case no
usb_requests are ready with encoded information, we just queue a zero
length request to the endpoint from the complete handler.
For bulk endpoints the async_wq thread still queues usb requests to the
endpoint.

Currently, the uvc gadget driver allocates all uvc_requests as one array
and deallocates them all when the video stream stops. This includes
de-allocating all the usb_requests associated with those uvc_requests.
This can lead to use-after-free issues if any of those de-allocated
usb_requests were still owned by the usb controller.
This is patch 2 of 2 in fixing the use-after-free issue. It adds a new
flag to uvc_video to track when frames and requests should be flowing.
When disabling the video stream, the flag is tripped and, instead
of de-allocating all uvc_requests and usb_requests, the gadget
driver only de-allocates those usb_requests that are currently
owned by it (as present in req_free). Other usb_requests are left
untouched until their completion handler is called which takes care
of freeing the usb_request and its corresponding uvc_request.
Now that uvc_video does not depends on uvc->state, this patch removes
unnecessary upates to uvc->state that were made to accommodate uvc_video
logic. This should ensure that uvc gadget driver never accidentally
de-allocates a usb_request that it doesn't own.

Currently the set_alt callback immediately disables the endpoint and queues
the v4l2 streamoff event. However, as the streamoff event is processed
asynchronously, it is possible that the video_pump thread attempts to queue
requests to an already disabled endpoint.
This change moves disabling usb endpoint to the end of streamoff event
callback. As the endpoint's state can no longer be used, video_pump is
now guarded by uvc->state as well. To be consistent with the actual
streaming state, uvc->state is now toggled between CONNECTED and STREAMING
from the v4l2 event callback only.

This patch introduces a new USB quirk,
USB_QUIRK_SHORT_SET_ADDRESS_REQ_TIMEOUT, which modifies the timeout value
for the SET_ADDRESS request. The standard timeout for USB request/command
is 5000 ms, as recommended in the USB 3.2 specification (section 9.2.6.1).
However, certain scenarios, such as connecting devices through an APTIV
hub, can lead to timeout errors when the device enumerates as full speed
initially and later switches to high speed during chirp negotiation.
In such cases, USB analyzer logs reveal that the bus suspends for
5 seconds due to incorrect chirp parsing and resumes only after two
consecutive timeout errors trigger a hub driver reset.

This 5-second delay in device enumeration is undesirable, particularly
in automotive applications where quick enumeration is crucial
(ideally within 3 seconds).
The newly introduced quirks provide the flexibility to align with a
3-second time limit, as required in specific contexts like automotive
applications.
By reducing the SET_ADDRESS request timeout to 500 ms, the
system can respond more swiftly to errors, initiate rapid recovery, and
ensure efficient device enumeration. This change is vital for scenarios
where rapid smartphone enumeration and screen projection are essential.

- The HCD address_device callback now accepts a user-defined timeout value
in milliseconds, providing better control over command execution times.
- The default timeout value for the address_device command has been set
to 5000 ms, aligning with the USB 3.2 specification. However, this
timeout can be adjusted as needed.
- The xhci_setup_device function has been updated to accept the timeout
value, allowing it to specify the maximum wait time for the command
operation to complete.
- The hub driver has also been updated to accommodate the newly added
timeout parameter during the SET_ADDRESS request.

The original Collison Avoidance mechanism, port->send_discover, avoids
the conflict when port partners start AMS almost the same time. However,
this mechanism is replaced by SINK_TX_OK and SINK_TX_NG. Skip the check
in PD3.0 to avoid the deadlock when source is requesting DR_SWAP where
sink is requesting DISCOVER_IDENTITY.

The driver needs to deregister and free the newly allocated dwc3 core
platform device on ACPI probe errors (e.g. probe deferral) and on driver
unbind but instead it leaked those resources while erroneously dropping
a reference to the parent platform device which is still in use.
For OF probing the driver takes a reference to the dwc3 core platform
device which has also always been leaked.
Fix the broken ACPI tear down and make sure to drop the dwc3 core
reference for both OF and ACPI.

The Qualcomm glue driver is overriding the interrupt trigger types
defined by firmware when requesting the wakeup interrupts during probe.
This can lead to a failure to map the DP/DM wakeup interrupts after a
probe deferral as the firmware defined trigger types do not match the
type used for the initial mapping:

Add support for the Microchip USB5744 USB3.0 and USB2.0 Hub.
The Microchip USB5744 supports two power supplies, one for 1V2 and one
for 3V3. According to the datasheet there is no need for a delay between
power on and reset, so this value is set to 0.

Not all LJCA chips implement SPI and on chips without SPI reading
the SPI descriptors will timeout.
On laptop models like the Dell Latitude 9420, this is expected behavior
and not an error.
Modify the driver to continue without instantiating a SPI auxbus child,
instead of failing to probe() the whole LJCA chip.

Issue: Adding a dTD to a Primed Endpoint May Not Get Recognized with
revision 2.20a.
There is an issue with the add dTD tripwire semaphore (ATDTW bit in
USBCMD register) that can cause the controller to ignore a dTD that is
added to a primed endpoint. When this happens, the software can read
the tripwire bit and the status bit at '1' even though the endpoint is
unprimed.
This issue observed with the Windows host machine.
Workaround:
The software must implement a periodic cycle, and check for each dTD
pending on execution (Active = 1), if the endpoint is primed. It can do
this by reading the corresponding bits in the ENDPTPRIME and ENDPTSTAT
registers. If these bits are read at 0, the software needs to re-prime
the endpoint by writing 1 to the corresponding bit in the ENDPTPRIME
register.

strlcpy() reads the entire source buffer first. This read may exceed
the destination size limit. This is both inefficient and can lead
to linear read overflows if a source string is not NUL-terminated[1].
Additionally, it returns the size of the source string, not the
resulting size of the destination string. In an effort to remove strlcpy()
completely[2], replace strlcpy() here with strscpy().
In the unlikely (impossible?) case where opts->id was larger than
PAGE_SIZE, this will now correctly report truncation errors.

The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes
many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by
returning an error code. However the value returned is ignored (apart
from emitting a warning) and this typically results in resource leaks.
To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return
void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to
.remove_new(), which already returns void. Eventually after all drivers
are converted, .remove_new() will be renamed to .remove().
In the error path emit an error message replacing the (less useful)
message by the core. Apart from the improved error message there is no
change in behaviour.

The variable io_res is being assigned a value that is never read, it is
either being re-assigned a new value that is read later or it's not used
depending on the cases in the following switch statement. The assignment
is redundant and can be removed. Cleans up clang scan build warning:

Commits 7b8ef22ea5 ("usb: xhci: plat: Add USB phy support") and
9134c1fd05 ("usb: xhci: plat: Add USB 3.0 phy support") added support
for looking up legacy PHYs from the sysdev devicetree node and
initialising them.
This broke drivers such as dwc3 which manages PHYs themself as the PHYs
would now be initialised twice, something which specifically can lead to
resources being left enabled during suspend (e.g. with the
usb_phy_generic PHY driver).
As the dwc3 driver uses driver-name matching for the xhci platform
device, fix this by only looking up and initialising PHYs for devices
that have been matched using OF.
Note that checking that the platform device has a devicetree node would
currently be sufficient, but that could lead to subtle breakages in case
anyone ever tries to reuse an ancestor's node.

If there is no fwnode, device_get_match_data() does not
return anything making the probe to always fail. Using
i2c_get_match_data() when there is no fwnode to fix that.

It's wrong to use the data length in a CS (in uframe x) to check whether
there is a SS (in uframe x-2), because for a isoc-in ep, it may need some
CS to receive data;
Save the count of SS in a uframe for isoc/intr in-eps to fix the issue.

The BOS descriptor defines a root descriptor and is the base descriptor for
accessing a family of related descriptors.
Function 'usb_get_bos_descriptor()' encounters an iteration issue when
skipping the 'USB_DT_DEVICE_CAPABILITY' descriptor type. This results in
the same descriptor being read repeatedly.
To address this issue, a 'goto' statement is introduced to ensure that the
pointer and the amount read is updated correctly. This ensures that the
function iterates to the next descriptor instead of reading the same
descriptor repeatedly.

dwc2_hc_n_intr() writes back INTMASK as read but evaluates it
with intmask applied. In stress testing this causes spurious
interrupts like this:

Currently the shipped platforms use only _HID to distinguish
ljca children devices. The _ADR support here is for future HW.
This patch is to drop _ADR support and we can then re-introduce
it (revert this patch) if future HW actually starts using _ADR
to distinguish children devices.

The interrupt service routine registered for the gadget is a primary
handler which mask the interrupt source and a threaded handler which
handles the source of the interrupt. Since the threaded handler is
voluntary threaded, the IRQ-core does not disable bottom halves before
invoke the handler like it does for the forced-threaded handler.
Due to changes in networking it became visible that a network gadget's
completions handler may schedule a softirq which remains unprocessed.
The gadget's completion handler is usually invoked either in hard-IRQ or
soft-IRQ context. In this context it is enough to just raise the softirq
because the softirq itself will be handled once that context is left.
In the case of the voluntary threaded handler, there is nothing that
will process pending softirqs. Which means it remain queued until
another random interrupt (on this CPU) fires and handles it on its exit
path or another thread locks and unlocks a lock with the bh suffix.
Worst case is that the CPU goes idle and the NOHZ complains about
unhandled softirqs.
Disable bottom halves before acquiring the lock (and disabling
interrupts) and enable them after dropping the lock. This ensures that
any pending softirqs will handled right away.

The default mode, configurable by DT, shall be set before usb role switch
driver is registered. Otherwise there is a race between default mode
and mode set by usb role switch driver.

This reverts commit a08799cf17.
The recently added Realtek PHY drivers depend on the new port status
notification mechanism which was built on the deprecated USB PHY
implementation and devicetree binding.
Specifically, using these PHYs would require describing the very same
PHY using both the generic "phy" property and the deprecated "usb-phy"
property which is clearly wrong.
We should not be building new functionality on top of the legacy USB PHY
implementation even if it is currently stuck in some kind of
transitional limbo.
Revert the new notification interface which is broken by design.
