When invoking certctl as part of installworld, set LOCALBASE in the environment to match the build environment. That ensures that LOCABASE is non-empty on systems without the user.localbase sysctl and avoids allowing a system configuration detail to leak into the build. Users who wish to build targeting a non-standard LOCALBASE should ensure it is set in src.conf or similar. This is the top level of the FreeBSD source directory.
FreeBSD is an operating system used to power modern servers, desktops, and embedded platforms. A large community has continually developed it for more than thirty years. Its advanced networking, security, and storage features have made FreeBSD the platform of choice for many of the busiest web sites and most pervasive embedded networking and storage devices.
