Glen Barber 674c45857c Restore the 'beforeinstall' for chpass(1), so files with the 
schg flag are handled before being replaced by a symbolic link.

Fix passwd(1)/yppasswd(1) schg issue similarly to chpass(1).

Note:  These are likely temporary fixes while identifying any
remaining files that are not marked as 'flags=schg' via mtree(8).

Simon J. Gerraty ccfb965433 Add META_MODE support. 
Off by default, build behaves normally.
WITH_META_MODE we get auto objdir creation, the ability to
start build from anywhere in the tree.

Still need to add real targets under targets/ to build packages.

Warren Block 639399ae07 Remove mention of minimum password length and upper/lower case checking, 
patch supplied by Allan Jude <freebsd@allanjude.com>.  Add xref to

Ed Schouten 01cc221b4c Mute some warnings on uninitialized variables. 
The code does the right thing, but the compiler is unable to figure it
out. All paths that use that variable use the same invariant.

when it could not determine the source of the user's passwd(5) entry,
it might be somewhat confusing now that we can have sources that are
not compiled into libc.

Crist J. Clark 51906f452e Fix world breakage introduced by my recent modifications to 
chpass(8). The relations between libc, libpam, chpass, passwd, and
vipw are a mess and probably should be cleaned up.

Alfred Perlstein 8858373f83 The clnt_create(KEYSERVSOCK, CRYPT_PROG, CRYPT_VERS, "unix") hacks 
were removed and replaced them with clnt_tp_create, now the af_local
support is fixed.

I also removed the hack how rpcinfo contacted rpcbind, now we can
relay on clnt_tp_create create the client-handle for us.  Only
rpcbind itself needs a hardcoded socket-path.

Ruslan Ermilov cda2a9b2f0 Set BINOWN=root explicitly for setuid root binaries. 
This is not "useless", as one may have non-default
setting for BINOWN in make.conf, and we still want
these to be installed setuid root in this case.
