packet_writel() takes a variable-sized list and reads to the first NULL. Let's let the compiler know so that it can help us catch mistakes in the callers. This should have been annotated similarly when it was a static function, but it's doubly important now that the function is available to the whole code-base. * Write a packetized stream, where each line is preceded by

* its length (including the header) as a 4-byte hex number.

* A length of 'zero' means end of stream (and a length of 1-3

* This is all pretty stupid, but we use this packetized line

*
* The writing side could use stdio, but since the reading
* side can't, we stay with pure read/write interfaces.
