Fix a memory leak introduced in 44c175c7a4 (pull: error on no merge
candidates, 2015-06-18). As a result we can mark several tests as
passing with SANITIZE=leak using "TEST_PASSES_SANITIZE_LEAK=true".
Removing the "int ret = 0" assignment added here in a6d7eb2c7a (pull:
optionally rebase submodules (remote submodule changes only),
2017-06-23) is not a logic error, it could always have been left
uninitialized (as "int ret"), now that we'll use the "ret" from the
upper scope we can drop the assignment in the "opt_rebase" branch.

Extend the the release_revisions() function so that it frees the
"cmdline" in the "struct rev_info". This in combination with a
preceding change to free "commits" and "mailmap" means that we can
whitelist another test under "TEST_PASSES_SANITIZE_LEAK=true".
There was a proposal in [1] to do away with xstrdup()-ing this
add_rev_cmdline(), perhaps that would be worthwhile, but for now let's
just free() it.
We could also make that a "char *" in "struct rev_cmdline_entry"
itself, but since we own it let's expose it as a constant to outside
callers. I proposed that in [2] but have since changed my mind. See
14d30cdfc0 (ref-filter: fix memory leak in `free_array_item()`,
2019-07-10), c514c62a4f (checkout: fix leak of non-existent branch
names, 2020-08-14) and other log history hits for "free((char *)" for
prior art.
This includes the tests we had false-positive passes on before my
6798b08e84 (perl Git.pm: don't ignore signalled failure in
_cmd_close(), 2022-02-01), now they pass for real.
Since there are 66 tests matching t/t[0-9]*git-svn*.sh it's easier to
list those that don't pass than to touch most of those 66. So let's
introduce a "TEST_FAILS_SANITIZE_LEAK=true", which if set in the tests
won't cause lib-git-svn.sh to set "TEST_PASSES_SANITIZE_LEAK=true.
This change also marks all the tests that we removed
"TEST_FAILS_SANITIZE_LEAK=true" from in an earlier commit due to
removing the UNLEAK() from cmd_format_patch(), we can now assert that
its API use doesn't leak any "struct rev_info" memory.
This change also made commit "t5503-tagfollow.sh" pass on current
master, but that would regress when combined with
ps/fetch-atomic-fixup's de004e848a (t5503: simplify setup of test
which exercises failure of backfill, 2022-03-03) (through no fault of
that topic, that change started using "git clone" in the test, which
has an outstanding leak). Let's leave that test out for now to avoid
in-flight semantic conflicts.

'git ... | foo' will mask any errors or crashes in git, so split up such
pipes in this file.
One testcase uses several separate pipe sequences in a row which are
awkward to split up. Wrap the split-up pipe in a function so the
awkwardness is not repeated. Also change that testcase's surrounding
quotes from double to single to avoid premature string interpolation.

These variables were added in 16805d3 (t/t91XX-svn: start
removing use of "git-" from these tests, 2008-09-08) so that
running:
git grep git-
would return fewer hits. At the time, we were transitioning
away from the use of the "dashed" git-foo form.
That transition has been over for years, and grepping for
"git-" in the test suite yields thousands of hits anyway
(all presumably false positives).
With their original purpose gone, these variables serve only
to obfuscate the tests. Let's get rid of them.

The Git CodingGuidelines prefer the $(...) construct for command
substitution instead of using the backquotes `...`.
The backquoted form is the traditional method for command
substitution, and is supported by POSIX. However, all but the
simplest uses become complicated quickly. In particular, embedded
command substitutions and/or the use of double quotes require
careful escaping with the backslash character.
The patch was generated by:
for _f in $(find . -name "*.sh")
do
perl -i -pe 'BEGIN{undef $/;} s/`(.+?)`/\$(\1)/smg' "${_f}"
done
and then carefully proof-read.

Format the subshells introduced by the previous patch (Several tests:
cd inside subshell instead of around, 2010-09-06) like so:
(
cd subdir &&
...
) &&
This is generally easier to read and has the nice side-effect that
this patch will show what commands are used in the subshell, making
it easier to check for lost environment variables and similar
behavior changes.

Subversion ignores all blank lines in svn:ignore properties. The old
git-svn code ignored blank lines everywhere except for the first line
of the svn:ignore property. This patch makes the "git svn
show-ignore" and "git svn create-ignore" commands ignore leading blank
lines, too.
Also include leading blank lines in the test suite.

I have tweaked configuration in my ~/.subversion directory, namely I am
running auto-properties and automatically adding '$Id$' expansion to
every file. This choke the last test named 'proplist' from
t9101-git-svn-props.sh, because one more property, svn:keywords is
automatically added.
I had just wrapped svn invocation with the svn_cmd that specifies empty
directory via --config-dir argument. Since the latter is the global
option, it should be recognized by all svn subcommands, so no
regressions will be introduced.
Now svn_cmd is used everywhere, not just in the failed test module: this
should guard us from the future clashes with user-defined configuration
tweaks.

Subversion tests use too many "git-foo" form, so I am converting them
in two steps.
This first step replaces literal strings "remotes/git-svn" and "git-svn-id"
by introducing $remotes_git_svn and $git_svn_id constants defined as shell
variables. This will reduce the number of false hits from "git grep".

This fixes the remainder of the issues where the test script itself is at
fault for failing when the git checkout path contains whitespace or other
shell metacharacters.
The majority of git svn tests used the idiom
test_expect_success "title" "test script using $svnrepo"
These were changed to have the test script in single-quotes:
test_expect_success "title" 'test script using "$svnrepo"'
which unfortunately makes the patch appear larger than it really is.
One consequence of this change is that in the verbose test output the
value of $svnrepo (and in some cases other variables, too) is no
longer expanded, i.e. previously we saw
* expecting success:
test script using /path/to/git/t/trash/svnrepo
but now it is:
* expecting success:
test script using "$svnrepo"

If a user has an "auto-prop" in his/her ~/.subversion/config file for
automatically setting the svn:keyword Id property on all ".c" files
(a reasonably common configuration in the Subversion world) then one
of the "svn propset" operations in the very first test would become a
no-op, which in turn would make the next commit a no-op.
This then caused the 25th test ('test propget') to fail because it
expects a certain number of commits to have taken place but the actual
number of commits was off by one.
Björn Steinbrink identified the "auto-prop" feature as the cause
of the failure. This patch avoids it by passing the "--no-auto-prop"
flag to "svn import" when setting up the test repository, thus ensuring
that the "svn propset" operation is no longer a no-op, regardless of the
users' settings in their config.

git svn create-ignore (to create one .gitignore per directory
from the svn:ignore properties. This has the disadvantage of
committing the .gitignore during the next dcommit, but when you
import a repo with tons of ignores (>1000), using git svn show-ignore

Some of the git-svn tests can fail on fast machines due to a race in
Subversion: if a file is modified in the same second it was checked out
(or in for that matter), Subversion will not consider it modified. This
works around the problem by increasing the timestamp by one second
before each commit.

* removed multiple git-svn calls with a multi-init / multi-fetch

* replaced `rev-list ... | head -n1` with `rev-parse ...`
