Junio C Hamano 215a7ad1ef Big tool rename.
As promised, this is the "big tool rename" patch. The primary differences
since 0.99.6 are:

  (1) git-*-script are no more. The commands installed do not
have any such suffix so users do not have to remember if
something is implemented as a shell script or not.

  (2) Many command names with 'cache' in them are renamed with
'index' if that is what they mean.

There are backward compatibility symblic links so that you and
Porcelains can keep using the old names, but the backward
compatibility support is expected to be removed in the near
future.

Junio C Hamano 6e7722e6f8 Fix git-log-script when HEAD is invalid.
It used 'die' without including git-sh-setup-script; since everything
it uses are subdirectory-aware, instead of including the script to
force it to be run from the top, use echo & exit.

Junio C Hamano ff84d327df Audit rev-parse users again.
Some callers to rev-parse were using the output selection flags
inconsistently.

Linus Torvalds 90e1848113 Make "git-rev-list" work within subdirectories
This trivial patch makes "git-rev-list" able to handle not being in
the top-level directory. This magically also makes "git-whatchanged"
do the right thing.

Trivial scripting fix to make sure that "git log" also works.

Linus Torvalds b134922992 git-log: make sure we have some commit to start from.
When no usable head/tag is specified, git log barfed with
underlying error message from rev-list, which was not helpful.

Linus Torvalds 4bc5fbf82e Make "git log" exit properly if not in a git archive
Instead of getting an incomprehensible error message from git-rev-list.

Linus Torvalds e764b8e8b3 Add "git" and "git-log-script" helper scripts.
The "git" script is just shorthand: "git xyz <args>" will just execute
"git-xyz-script <args>", which is useful for people used to the CVS
naming convention. So "git log" will run the new git-log-script, which
is just a wrapper around the new pretty-printing git-rev-list.

Cheesy.
