Merge branch 'jk/unavailable-can-be-missing'

Code clean-up to turn history traversal more robust in a
semi-corrupt repository.

* jk/unavailable-can-be-missing:

  mark_parents_uninteresting(): replace list with stack
  mark_parents_uninteresting(): drop missing object check
