Merge branch 'cb/common-prefix-unification' into next

* cb/common-prefix-unification:
  rename pathspec_prefix() to common_prefix() and move to dir.[ch]
  consolidate pathspec_prefix and common_prefix
  remove prefix argument from pathspec_prefix
