This is a re-land with downgraded `package:flutter_gallery_assets`
version.
* Downgrade package:flutter_gallery_assets to 0.1.4
* Change engine.version to 81baff97c29bb08cbf8453a3f9042c5813f84ad3 (which contains an additional fix)
* Change engine.version to e3687f70c7ece72000b32ee1b3c02755ba5361ac (since mac tarballs are corrupted on earlier commit)
Reason for revert: The package:flutter_gallery_assets has removed some images which are required for the examples/flutter_gallery, so the gallery build is failing (only discovered after landing, since gallery doesn't seem to get built during github PR presubmit checks)

* rolls `engine.version` to flutter/engine@b148e628 (which includes dart sdk 2.1.0-dev)
* rolls `goldens.version` to flutter/goldens@6c45fafdf (which includes updates due to skia changes in engine)
* changes `platform.dill` to `platform_strong.dill` in various places due to flutter/engine@a84b210b
* adds explicit `environment: sdk: ">=2.0.0-dev.68 < 3.0.0"` constraints to `pubspec.yaml` and `pubspec.yaml.tmpl` files (since pub defaults to `<2.0.0` if omitted)

Our Cirrus Windows tests were not really working: they reported success even when failing.
This should fix several problems with the Cirrus Windows tests.

This uses @kevmoo's completion package to do command line completion for flutter, and a new command "bash-completion" (with alias "zsh-completion") that will output the necessary shell script setup code, and adds the hidden command "completion" that does the actual completion.
Because it adds a dependency, I also had to do flutter update-packages --force-upgrade.

fuchsia_tester.dart still assumes Dart 1. Previously, it ran tests directly
from source, flutter_platform.dart automatically runs a kernel compile when
operating in Dart 2 mode, but this assumes a functional Dart SDK is available
in the artifacts directly, and fuchsia_tester.dart mocks out the artifacts
directory with an empty temp dir.
Remaining work is:
1. Get the frontend server building as a dependency on Fuchsia.
2. Patch fuchsia_tester.dart to use a valid Dart SDK and frontend server.
This also reverts migration to Dart 2 typedef syntax.

This reverts commit 3daebd0. (#18316)
Now that Dart 1 is turned off, reapplying my change to turn on the prefer_generic_function_type_aliases analysis option, and fix all the typedefs to Dart 2 preferred syntax.
Also eliminated the unused analysis_options_repo.yaml file and turned on public_member_api_docs in analysys_options.yaml.
No logic changes, just changing the typedef syntax for all typedefs, and updating analysis options.
I'm moving the assets in the assets-for-api-docs repo to a slightly different location to help with organization in that repo, so this PR points the doc URLs to the new location. The old assets won't be removed until this PR makes its way to the API docs website.
No documentation or code changes here, other than changing doc image URLs.

This is not a grand refactor yet, it's just cleaning up what we have
already, so that people who keep using this API (e.g. dialogs) have
something coherent to deal with.
The major changes are that Navigator and NavigatorState have the same
API now, that most of the examples use `<void>` instead of `<Null>`,
that the navigator observer can see replaces, and that the `settings`
is moved from ModalRoute to Route. I also cleaned up some of the API
documentation.

There were some problems I introduced with the last PR for this. It passed the test, but failed in practice.
This adds tests for those failure cases, adds a "--help" and fixes the test so that it doesn't try and actually download MinGit as part of the Windows test.
I added package:platform as a dependency, so I did a force upgrade on the packages.
Also, re-enabling 'create package' in the cache warming code, now that #14448 is fixed.
* Unpin package:test and upgrade packages
* Update packages/flutter/test/foundation/stack_trace_test.dart

* Revert "Fixed output validation. (#14005)"
This reverts commit d84398db72.
* Revert "Update package prep script to do async process execution and emit output as it happens. (#13918)"
This reverts commit b7169c1d95.
- Switches to async process execution, which now shows output as it happens instead of in chunks when the process completes
- Now uses ProcessManager so that it may be mocked for the test.
- Adds in the download and install of mingit on Windows.
- Updated package dependencies because of added dependency on process package.
This simply updates the package dependencies by running flutter update-packages --force-upgrade.
I'm doing this with no other changes, because the last time I tried that, redness occurred. I want to isolate the problem to a "clean" update of the packages.
It looks like the plugins device_info, connectivity, and url_launcher haven't yet had their gradle configurations updated, so they fail when trying to build with the new gradle. I did not upgrade for those three packages only (in flutter_gallery) until we are ready to fix them (fixing them for master will break them for alpha users, so we need to do an alpha roll to do that).
This adds our self-compiled copy of the MinGit executable (built from the flutter/git repo) to the archive when building an archive for Windows.
I also tweaked the internal API for prepare_package.dart so that there's a single entry point to build an archive.
This allows the scheduler library to depend on the services library
and the painting library to depend on the scheduler library without
the services library having to depend on the scheduler library.
While I was at it I also cleaned up some of the binding logic: the
licenses logic can now be overridden (and the test library does so),
and the image cache can now be overridden as well.
This consolidates all of the non-template .gitignore rules into the top level .gitignore, to ignore common things more broadly, with less maintenance needed for the .gitignore files. Does not touch the templates, so that they still produce needed .gitignores as part of flutter create.
Creates a new (hidden) flutter command 'ide-config' that will create and/or update
existing .iml files and some files under the .idea directory, as well as
removing existing *.iml files and the .idea directory.
It also:
* Adds *.iml to the .gitignore
* Removes existing .iml files from the repo, and moves them to the
packages/flutter_tools/ide_templates/intellij directory.
* Adds a flag to ide-config ('--update-templates') that will take any new .iml
files in the flutter tree and add them to the existing templates.
- If --overwrite is also specified, then all existing templates will also
be overwritten with the contents from the flutter tree, and any that have
been deleted from the flutter tree will also be removed from the
templates.
* Added new run configurations for all existing app targets that will now also
be automatically added to IntelliJ.
* Setting up the environment also includes setting the coding style guidelines
and the git VCS.
* Note that after this PR lands, Flutter developers will need to run it once to
re-create the .iml files and configuration files that have been removed.
After this PR lands, .iml files will no longer appear in the untracked files
section for git.
Various improvements (in particular a new painting fuzzer) to the text manual test.

Reverting because this causes scuba regressions that I'd like to
address in another PR that is pending, but we'd like to roll Flutter.
Fixes InputDecorator to work with textScaleFactor, fixes Material Design differences.
There were a number of differences with the Material Design spec, including
several different padding values and underline thickness. This corrects
that so that the decorator is in line with the Material Design spec now.
Also, the decorator properly handles changes to the textScaleFactor, where
before it would not re-layout when needed, painting the cursor and
underline incorrectly.
The decorator also now properly animates helper, error, and hint text when
the textScaleFactor or input decoration properties change.
Helper text is now properly displayed in dense mode, as the spec shows.
Before this change, it was never displayed in dense mode.

* Pin all dependencies ONCE AND FOR ALL
This replaces the secret `flutter update-packages --upgrade` with a destructive `flutter update-packages --force-upgrade` that actually goes and pins every dependency and transitive dependency in every flutter package to the same version.
* Add comments.
The main purpose of this PR is to make it so that when you set the
initial route and it's a hierarchical route (e.g. `/a/b/c`), it
implies multiple pushes, one for each step of the route (so in that
case, `/`, `/a`, `/a/b`, and `/a/b/c`, in that order). If any of those
routes don't exist, it falls back to '/'.
As part of doing that, I:
* Changed the default for MaterialApp.initialRoute to honor the
actual initial route.
* Added a MaterialApp.onUnknownRoute for handling bad routes.
* Added a feature to flutter_driver that allows the host test script
and the device test app to communicate.
* Added a test to make sure `flutter drive --route` works.
(Hopefully that will also prove `flutter run --route` works, though
this isn't testing the `flutter` tool's side of that. My main
concern is over whether the engine side works.)
* Fixed `flutter drive` to output the right target file name.
* Changed how the stocks app represents its data, so that we can
show a page for a stock before we know if it exists.
* Made it possible to show a stock page that doesn't exist. It shows
a progress indicator if we're loading the data, or else shows a
message saying it doesn't exist.
* Changed the pathing structure of routes in stocks to work more
sanely.
* Made search in the stocks app actually work (before it only worked
if we happened to accidentally trigger a rebuild). Added a test.
* Replaced some custom code in the stocks app with a BackButton.
* Added a "color" feature to BackButton to support the stocks use case.
* Spaced out the ErrorWidget text a bit more.
* Added `RouteSettings.copyWith`, which I ended up not using.
* Improved the error messages around routing.
While I was in some files I made a few formatting fixes, fixed some
code health issues, and also removed `flaky: true` from some devicelab
tests that have been stable for a while. Also added some documentation
here and there.
I can't figure out if this is genius or a giant hack.
This lets you use DefaultTextStyle.merge and IconTheme.merge without

Rename State.config to State.widget
Rename State.didUpdateConfig to State.didUpdateWidget

After this patch, there are three major text input widgets:
* EditableText. This widget is a low-level editing control that
interacts with the IME and displays a blinking cursor.
* TextField. This widget is a Material Design text field, with all the
bells and whistles. It is highly configurable and can be reduced down
to a fairly simple control by setting its `decoration` property to
null.
* TextFormField. This widget is a FormField that wraps a TextField.
This patch also replaces the InputValue data model for these widgets
with a Listenable TextEditingController, which is much more flexible.
Fixes#7031
We now have an explicit focus tree that we manage. Instead of using
GlobalKeys to manage focus, we use FocusNode and FocusScopeNode objects.
The FocusNode is Listenable and notifies when its focus state changes.
Focus notifications trigger by tree mutations are now delayed by one
frame, which is necessary to handle certain complex tree mutations. In
the common case of focus changes being triggered by user input, the
focus notificiation still arives in the same frame.
It's common to just want a simple colored box. Simple thing should be simple,
so this patch adds a convenience argument to Continer for creating a box
decoration that is just a color.

This patch moves RawKeyboard from mojom over to platform messages. In
the process, I've also cleaned up the interface substantially.
Currently raw key events are supported only on Android, but the
interfaces defined in this patch should scale up to multiple platforms.
Switch our pubspec.yamls to using SDK sources so that we can have consistent
source types when we depend on these packages from external packages using SDK
sources.
This code is now in its own standalone library. The library is in a private git
repository in the flutter organization because the code is unmaintained. If
you're interested in using and maintaining this code, please contact
flutter-dev@googlegroups.com for more information.
This rewrites imports of various mojom.dart files from the Flutter
engine repo to instead import normal-looking dart files from the
(new) flutter_services package. This package handles exporting the
correct symbols from generated code wherever that may live.
Includes an engine roll to 3551e7a48e2e336777b15c7637af92fd7605b6c5
which contains the new flutter_services package.
Removed old Stack layout and added a simple-to-extend interface for the
new drawer header. Also added a specialized UserAccountsDrawerHeader
consistent with Material Design guidelines.
Anywhere that accepted IconData now accepts either an Icon or an
ImageIcon.
Places that used to take an IconData in an `icon` argument, notably
IconButton and DrawerItem, now take a Widget in that slot. You can wrap
the value that used to be passed in in an Icon constructor to get the
same result.
Icon itself now takes the icon as a positional argument, for brevity.
ThemeData now has an iconTheme as well as a primaryIconTheme, the same
way it has had a textTheme and primaryTextTheme for a while.
IconTheme.of() always returns a value now (though that value itself may
have nulls in it). It defaults to the ThemeData.iconTheme.
IconThemeData.fallback() is a new method that returns an icon theme data
structure with all fields filled in.
IconTheme.merge() is a new constructor that takes a context and creates
a widget that mixes in the new values with the inherited values.
Most places that introduced an IconTheme widget now use IconTheme.merge.
IconThemeData.merge and IconThemeData.copyWith act in a way analogous to
the similarly-named members of TextStyle.
ImageIcon is introduced. It acts like Icon but takes an ImageProvider
instead of an IconData.
Also: Fix the analyzer to actually check the stocks app.
Overview
========
This patch refactors images to achieve the following goals:
* it allows references to unresolved assets to be passed
around (previously, almost every layer of the system had to know about
whether an image came from an asset bundle or the network or
elsewhere, and had to manually interact with the image cache).
* it allows decorations to use the same API for declaring images as the
widget tree.
It requires some minor changes to call sites that use images, as
discussed below.
Widgets
-------
Change this:
```dart
child: new AssetImage(
name: 'my_asset.png',
...
)
```
...to this:
```dart
child: new Image(
image: new AssetImage('my_asset.png'),
...
)
```
Decorations
-----------
Change this:
```dart
child: new DecoratedBox(
decoration: new BoxDecoration(
backgroundImage: new BackgroundImage(
image: DefaultAssetBundle.of(context).loadImage('my_asset.png'),
...
),
...
),
child: ...
)
```
...to this:
```dart
child: new DecoratedBox(
decoration: new BoxDecoration(
backgroundImage: new BackgroundImage(
image: new AssetImage('my_asset.png'),
...
),
...
),
child: ...
)
```
DETAILED CHANGE LOG
===================
The following APIs have been replaced in this patch:
* The `AssetImage` and `NetworkImage` widgets have been split in two,
with identically-named `ImageProvider` subclasses providing the
image-loading logic, and a single `Image` widget providing all the
widget tree logic.
* `ImageResource` is now `ImageStream`. Rather than configuring it with
a `Future<ImageInfo>`, you complete it with an `ImageStreamCompleter`.
* `ImageCache.load` and `ImageCache.loadProvider` are replaced by
`ImageCache.putIfAbsent`.
The following APIs have changed in this patch:
* `ImageCache` works in terms of arbitrary keys and caches
`ImageStreamCompleter` objects using those keys. With the new model,
you should never need to interact with the cache directly.
* `Decoration` can now be `const`. The state has moved to the
`BoxPainter` class. Instead of a list of listeners, there's now just a
single callback and a `dispose()` method on the painter. The callback
is passed in to the `createBoxPainter()` method. When invoked, you
should repaint the painter.
The following new APIs are introduced:
* `AssetBundle.loadStructuredData`.
* `SynchronousFuture`, a variant of `Future` that calls the `then`
callback synchronously. This enables the asynchronous and
synchronous (in-the-cache) code paths to look identical yet for the
latter to avoid returning to the event loop mid-paint.
* `ExactAssetImage`, a variant of `AssetImage` that doesn't do anything clever.
* `ImageConfiguration`, a class that describes parameters that configure
the `AssetImage` resolver.
The following APIs are entirely removed by this patch:
* `AssetBundle.loadImage` is gone. Use an `AssetImage` instead.
* `AssetVendor` is gone. `AssetImage` handles everything `AssetVendor`
used to handle.
* `RawImageResource` and `AsyncImage` are gone.
The following code-level changes are performed:
* `Image`, which replaces `AsyncImage`, `NetworkImage`, `AssetImage`,
and `RawResourceImage`, lives in `image.dart`.
* `DecoratedBox` and `Container` live in their own file now,
`container.dart` (they reference `image.dart`).
DIRECTIONS FOR FUTURE RESEARCH
==============================
* The `ImageConfiguration` fields are mostly aspirational. Right now
only `devicePixelRatio` and `bundle` are implemented. `locale` isn't
even plumbed through, it will require work on the localisation logic.
* We should go through and make `BoxDecoration`, `AssetImage`, and
`NetworkImage` objects `const` where possible.
* This patch makes supporting animated GIFs much easier.
* This patch makes it possible to create an abstract concept of an
"Icon" that could be either an image or a font-based glyph (using
`IconData` or similar). (see

We now use the `@required` annotation to encourage developers to
explicitly set onPressed and onChanged callbacks to null when that would
disable the widget.
Fixes#287
Previously we supplied individual parameters to the various drag and pan
callbacks. However, that approach isn't extensible because each new
parameter is a breaking change to the API.
This patch makes a one-time breaking change to the API to provide a
"details" object that we can extend over time as we need to expose more
information. The first planned extension is adding enough information to
accurately produce an overscroll glow on Android.
This makes it possible to substitute 'flutter run' for 'flutter test'
and actually watch a test run on a device.
For any test that depends on flutter_test:
1. Remove any import of 'package:test/test.dart'.
2. Replace `testWidgets('...', (WidgetTester tester) {`
with `testWidgets('...', (WidgetTester tester) async {`
3. Add an "await" in front of calls to any of the following:
* tap()
* tapAt()
* fling()
* flingFrom()
* scroll()
* scrollAt()
* pump()
* pumpWidget()
4. Replace any calls to `tester.flushMicrotasks()` with calls to
`await tester.idle()`.
There's a guarding API that you can use, if you have particularly
complicated tests, to get better error messages. Search for
TestAsyncUtils.
This reverts commit 55f9145ef4.
Turns out that this commit breaks apps that use the material library,
because of the _errorTextStyle DefaultTextStyle which has inherit:true.
Just setting it to false doesn't work, unfortunately, because then you
hit some sort of issue with merging that text style with others that
have inherit:true.
To make it clear that this constructor requires an explicit style. Also
throw a descriptive error recommending the inherit constructor for
styles with the inherit bit set.
Fixes#3842
TextAlign applies to a whole paragraph instead of applying to an individual
text span. This patch moves the property out of TextStyle and into a separate
property on Text and RichText.
Instead of incorporating the margin into the button, introduce a ButtonBar
widget that supplies the proper spacing between the buttons. Also, make these
buttons more configurable via ButtonTheme so that dialogs can change the
minWidth and padding of the buttons as required by the spec.

* Refactor widget test framework
Instead of:
```dart
test("Card Collection smoke test", () {
testWidgets((WidgetTester tester) {
```
...you now say:
```dart
testWidgets("Card Collection smoke test", (WidgetTester tester) {
```
Instead of:
```dart
expect(tester, hasWidget(find.text('hello')));
```
...you now say:
```dart
expect(find.text('hello'), findsOneWidget);
```
Instead of the previous API (exists, widgets, widget, stateOf,
elementOf, etc), you now have the following comprehensive API. All these
are functions that take a Finder, except the all* properties.
* `any()` - true if anything matches, c.f. `Iterable.any`
* `allWidgets` - all the widgets in the tree
* `widget()` - the one and only widget that matches the finder
* `firstWidget()` - the first widget that matches the finder
* `allElements` - all the elements in the tree
* `element()` - the one and only element that matches the finder
* `firstElement()` - the first element that matches the finder
* `allStates` - all the `State`s in the tree
* `state()` - the one and only state that matches the finder
* `firstState()` - the first state that matches the finder
* `allRenderObjects` - all the render objects in the tree
* `renderObject()` - the one and only render object that matches the finder
* `firstRenderObject()` - the first render object that matches the finder
There's also `layers' which returns the list of current layers.
`tap`, `fling`, getCenter, getSize, etc, take Finders, like the APIs
above, and expect there to only be one matching widget.
The finders are:
* `find.text(String text)`
* `find.widgetWithText(Type widgetType, String text)`
* `find.byKey(Key key)`
* `find.byType(Type type)`
* `find.byElementType(Type type)`
* `find.byConfig(Widget config)`
* `find.byWidgetPredicate(WidgetPredicate predicate)`
* `find.byElementPredicate(ElementPredicate predicate)`
The matchers (for `expect`) are:
* `findsNothing`
* `findsWidgets`
* `findsOneWidget`
* `findsNWidgets(n)`
* `isOnStage`
* `isOffStage`
* `isInCard`
* `isNotInCard`
Benchmarks now use benchmarkWidgets instead of testWidgets.
Also, for those of you using mockers, `serviceMocker` now automatically
handles the binding initialization.
This patch also:
* changes how tests are run so that we can more easily swap the logic
out for a "real" mode instead of FakeAsync.
* introduces CachingIterable.
* changes how flutter_driver interacts with the widget tree to use the
aforementioned new API rather than ElementTreeTester, which is gone.
* removes ElementTreeTester.
* changes the semantics of a test for scrollables because we couldn't
convince ourselves that the old semantics made sense; it only worked
before because flushing the microtasks after every event was broken.
* fixes the flushing of microtasks after every event.
* Reindent the tests
* Fix review comments
This reorders some classes so that this file makes more sense, and adds
a bunch of docs. It also makes the following changes:
* Move allElements from Instrumentation to TestWidgets. (Instrumentation
is going away.)
* Remove findElements.
* Rename byElement to byElementPredicate
* Rename byPredicate to byWidgetPredicate
* Implement _WidgetPredicateFinder so that byWidgetPredicate has good
messages
* Fix one use of byElementPredicate to use byWidgetPredicate.
The 'routes' table is a point of confusion with new developers. By
providing a 'home' argument that sets the '/' route, we can delay the
point at which we teach developers about 'routes' until the point where
they want to have a second route.
...by adding tests to our examples that don't import flutter_test, which
pins the relevant dependencies.
Also, provide more information when complaining about leaked transient
callbacks in tests.
Also, make tests display full information when they have an exception,
by bypassing the throttling we have for Android logging in tests.
Also, make the word wrapping not wrap stack traces if they happen to
be included in exception output.
Also, fix a leaked transient callback in the checkbox code.
This patch adds dartdoc to LazyBlock. Also, this patch fixes the scrolling
physics of LazyBlock. Previously, we updated a running simulation only when the
change in scroll behavior changed the current scroll offset. Now we update
running simulations every time the behavior changes because the simulation
might depend on quantities other than the current scroll offset.
Previously, border with '0' was ambiguous. Sometimes we treated it as
hairline borders, sometimes as "don't show the border", though even in
the latter case we did some graphics work sometimes. Now we have an
explicit BorderStyle.none flag to not draw the border efficiently.
* left -> leading (Removes an LTR bias)
* center -> title (Widget was actually centered)
* right -> actions (Removes an LTR bias, asymmetric with leading)
Fixes#2348
Well, all the easy ones, anyway.
For some reason `// ignore:` isn't working for me so I've disabled
lints that need that. Also disabled those that require a ton of work
(which I'm doing, but not in this PR, to keep it reviewable).
This adds:
- avoid_init_to_null
- library_names
- package_api_docs
- package_names
- package_prefixed_library_names
- prefer_is_not_empty
- sort_constructors_first
- sort_unnamed_constructors_first
- unnecessary_getters_setters
Most of the remaining widget examples are actually manual tests. This patch
moves them into //dev/manual_tests. A couple are examples of using services,
which I've moved to //examples/layers/services. The remainder are out-dated and
are removed by this patch.
